Hi,
Is anyone attending the fall 2010 lpn program at UDC?
Hey survivign, I'm w ms jenkins. The class is so full I don't even know how to start looking for you. 1 day I'll just ask in front of the class.
Hello lifesdream how are you doing, how do find it so far. I don't know for you guys, but I like the way dr mcclure is going w his subjects. Let see what it gives after the first test next Friday. If we can't share in live please let's talk here ok? Till we know each other.
hello, hopefully one of you are still checking in to see this message. Thanks for all the info received so far, I am applying to the UDC day program and want to know how are the classes going for you now that you have been attending a few months. Also, I am re-entering a second career, do you see a younger set of students during the day or in the evening. Any updated info you can share on the UDC LPN program will be greatly appreciated. Also, the gentleman that posted, 48y/o, how is it going with you? Thanks again.
Hi Autumncree,
I am in the UDC evening program. Our classes began October 2010. This site was extremely helpful to me. I learned so much from the students that were ahead of me so I'm happy to do the same for others. I will warn you that this school is very very very DISORGANIZED. I can't emphasize that enough. Just be prepared for it. Don't expect anything different. It's been like this since the beginning but somehow their still functioning. In my experience most (99%) of the instructors/staff are pleasant. The material is not difficult to understand but there is a lot of material. I work full time so it's been a big exercise in time management. So far we've lost about 3-4/40 people or so for various reasons but my class is extremely supportive of one another. It has been a very busy couple of months but I must say that I'm learning a lot and having fun. I think overall it will be a great experience for you as long as you know what to expect. Oh yeah we have a mixture in ages maybe the youngest is in their early 20's to 50's maybe even 60 (I'd say most are later 20's and up). Most people are career changers including myself. Let me know if you have any other questions, like I said I'm happy to help.
Hello autumncree,
I am in the day program at udc, and started in october.
so far everything is fine for me, just a lot lot lot of material to read, but as soon you find what works for you, it goes smoothly. Overall, i won`t say the school is disorganized; some instructors might not do everything you are expecting, and one can`t blame the school for that. for instance, we started clinicals for fundamentals in december, my group have been going since day 1, whereas other instructors cancel for any little thing. It`s great for some students, but annoying for others, so opinions will be different.
Regarding the age, we have it all, from 20`s to late 50`s. So you won`t be out of place. Few students dropped out already, for many different reasons (finance, family, health, bad grades...).
All I can say Autumncree is the lpn program isn`t joke, even though we are still in the first quater(almost the end), it is a lot, and I guest the further we go, it will get tougher, but as long as you do your part, it works fine.
Good luck. Let us know if you have any other question.
