UCSF MEPN 2022

Published

I applied for UCSF MEPN for 2022! Anyone else going crazy waiting for an interview invite? Has anyone gotten an interview invite?

Does anybody have interview tips/suggestions?

hi everyone! I'm a MEPN and I can share some interview tips.

1) practice!! This doesn't mean memorizing, but you want to practice the words before the big day so that you feel somewhat familiar with them AND you don't want to be super rambly!

2) Really think about why you applied to your specific specialty - why this one and not another? Be ready to give specific examples.

3) Why do you want to be a nurse? What was your process?

4) wear something that makes you feel confident. You definitely don't need to wear a blazer or a ton of make-up.

5) be yourself!! they already want you - the interview is to seal the deal :)

6) The format is actually great and it feels like a conversation, not a job interview. They really want you to succeed and do well, so they'll do their best to help you feel relaxed.

good luck! and those of you waiting for financial aid package from UCSF before accepting or declining other offers - tbh, don't even bother. everyone gets loans and financial aid info is available till late May/early June. Definitely an inconvenience.

Hi, thanks for your help. Noticed in your post history you are PMHNP. Any advice for this specialty in particular? How did you explain why psych was the best fit for you?

Hi, that's odd - I'm FNP!

 Hi quartz-tulip,

Thank you so much for your time and interview tips for us!

I appreciate every single tip and especially your tip number 5 makes my nerves calm. Thanks!!

Ooof it just hit me that interviews are next week ?

Is anybody nervous about tomorrow? I am terrible with interviews.

I feel OK. I have already gotten accepted at my number 2 choice so it feels like whatever happens will be OK. I was nervous my first interview though!

Gotcha! I think I am nervous because this is a school I live close to.

I am wondering if I messed up. When I ended my interview, I just exited my interview and signed out. Was I supposed to leave the breakout room and go back to the main room instead? Does anyone know?

I think it is fine since they asked us to leave the meeting room to end the interview in the email. If there are any other applicants who did differently, please let us know!

How was interview? Was it like a conversation rather than job interview? I can't wait for my interview which is on Friday : )

I am sure you did a great work!

It was alright. They didn’t give a ton of feedback to my answers, but did make a comment about my goal statement. I did find there was a bunch of time for questions, so make sure you prepare enough questions so you don’t have any spare time!
