Hi,
Is there anyone lurking who is planning to apply to the 2011 program?
I have spent the last 12 years in financial marketing/communications and am excited to try and change paths into nursing. I am currently taking my prerequisite courses at city college- stats and anatomy/physiology- and going in for the GRE Saturday. I'm volunteering at a children's hospital, which is causing me to consider the pediatric nurse practitioner track... I know UCSF is very competitive and it's a long-shot for someone like me to get in, but I feel like I have to try! If it doesn't happen next year, then I'll just keep building my volunteer experience and re-apply. Also on my mind is that if for some miracle I were to get in how I would pay for it.
But enough about me... what are some other candidates' takes on preperation, interests, anxieties, etc?
I actually got a response about this a few weeks ago. Next to the names of recommendation writers whose letters you are reusing, write ®. In the email field, enter [email protected]. Regarding the transcripts, I think you'll just have to have faith that they kept them from last year (or whenever it was that you applied previously). Good luck!
hello all applicants,
is anyone else having problems requesting LORs to be sent to your recommenders? i requested four to be sent out on friday, 8/13 and none of my recommenders have received any notice from UCSF. i've been calling and emailing all day and haven't been able to get in touch with anyone! has anyone else been unable to call/email as well?
monruss13, sounds like we're in the same boat! I also changed my name this year, and I used my new name on the application. I vaguely remember that there is a field to indicate previous/other names used somewhere on the registration page, but I registered several weeks ago and the gloomy weather in SF is making me brain-dead! I have been corresponding with them all summer using both names, so I hope that they will realize I'm the same person when they are looking for my transcripts.
I called yesterday and the person the phone calls are getting forwarded to says that the Nursing Affairs people will be back in the office on Monday, August 23rd.
Does anyone know if there's a way to change the email on your recommenders if you've already requested it? One of my recommenders no longer has access to the email he originally gave me.

I think you can "delete" a recommender and then add them back in with the correct information.
Meesh: i'm having the same problem with the LOR... they made it out to 2 of my people just fine but it doesn't work for the other 2! So, I added them again and sent it via a different e-mail address but now it won't let me delete the 1st one... I wonder if this will be a problem when I try to request my 5th person, if it will already show as complete and not let me do it..verrrry frustrating... let me know if you can any info on this, thanks!
Hi guys,
I'm having the same problem with one of my letter writers not getting the UCSF email. I've sent it twice to her (second time when they let you send a reminder) and both times she received nothing...all the others got theirs just fine. I've called and emailed the school...no word back yet.
DoulaMama: how did you add them again and send it from a different email? I don't see a option to delete them...just to send another reminder
I remember at one point I saw somewhere on the site that if the online recommendation submission process didn't work for a recommender they could mail a physical letter to the same address we mail transcripts but now I can't find that info anywhere. I'm just worried if I tell her to do that it may not be connected to my app.
Ahhhh...at least its not Sept. 1 yet, right?

Hey everyone--
Did anyone apply before? Because they said I do not have to send in new transcripts and rec letters (except for one new one) and I do not know then how to submit that part of the application with rec letters. It says it is not complete. How do I confirm UCSF has my old letters and transcripts? Thank you!!
the email seems to be down and no one is answering the phone
