Hey! Has anyone heard when UCSD will open the application for the New Graduate Nurse Transition to Practice Program? Just don't want to miss it!

Thanks!

I'm also waiting on their application period :3

It was suppose to open on the first week of May I believe, but IDK if bc of the whole covid-19 situation it might have been pushed back? Not so sure

I spoke with someone in the recruitment office. She said the new grad program was delayed, they didn't know when the new grad positions would be posted, and recommended to continue checking the website.

Hi! Do you have a contact email or phone number that you were able to use to get in touch with recruitment?

I just looked up UCSD Health Human Resources and called the number provided.

I have also heard of it being delayed until further notice... with the expectation that new grad hiring will not occur anytime soon.

theres a new posting for new grad L&D as of today. Hoping there will be more postings for other units because they cant be having a new grad program just for one unit right? it says it is for the october 2020 new grad program.

I've applied to the New Grad Postpartum/L&D posting. I know these positions are highly competitive. Anyone have ANY tips to be chosen for this program? I currently have an Associates and working on my BSN. However, I have background experience as a CNA, LVN and completed my preceptorship in the NICU right before COVID. For anyone who's been accepted into the new grad positions, what are some skills to grab the attention from recruitment? Any tips are appreciated! Please and Thank you!

Also, good luck for those who are also applying ?

I applied too! The only thing I have heard is that you basically HAVE to have taken UCSD's MNNC course in order to be considered for any new grad L&D position in San Diego.. I am taking it this month so I'm not sure if I'll be considered since I haven't completed it yet.

@klm18 good luck to you! I didn't know that was a requirement! Also, I realized one of the requirements was to have the NRP certification (don't have that yet either). Also, would this position be one nurse for both departments as a L&D nurse AND Postpartum? I feel like I may not be prepared for this LOL.

From my understanding the new grad program trains you for both units so they can float you as needed. But who knows!

UCSD posted a Telemetry/PCU New Grad app!! (its for internal right now, but will probably open up to External applicants w/in a week or so!)
