this is my first time on here and I didn't see any posts about 2015 applicants for UCO and/or OSU-OKC. Just curious if any others are out there and how you feel about your applications.

I went to the bookstore yesterday and they said the bundle won't be available for a few more weeks

Hey everyone! I'm hoping someone can clear up some confusion w/ the books... So as far as the Elsevier books go, is it like an access code, like with "McGraw-Hill" new books come with an online access code? Or is this something completely different?

I'm all confused on the Elsevier bundles and somehow misplaced the info sheet that came with the acceptance letter - yey me :/

Which books do NOT come with the bundle and what are the prices?

Personally I think I will invest in both, Ebooks and hard copies. I like writing notes and highlight in my books, plus I've been told that those books are not just good for school but are also helpful after graduation.

About the uniforms, the order forms where still not ready last time I checked and I got a bit anxious because we are getting close to starting, but apparently there is no reason to rush it since we won't need them right away.

Who all has their stethoscopes yet and what else is everyone getting in order to prepare for our first day of nursing school?

I'm still trying to decide on a color stethoscope. I'm between the bright yellow one and the raspberry colored one lol. I'm still deciding on scissors and penlight as well. Also, I'm planing on getting a clipboard with storage and a calculator, and a good backpack. I did buy a pair of solid black shoes already... Anyone else have any suggestions or ideas on what we could possibly need? Anyone doing anything else to prepare?

I've seen other classes with a closed group on Facebook. I would be totally open to joining if we created one! Anyone else?

Lisa- sorry I don't have my book list with me currently. from my understanding, but i think everyone is confused on this so i may have this completely wrong. But when i checked with the bookstore last they didn't have the bundle available yet, so i'm not sure which books are included in that.

If you go to the bookstore you can order the scrubs there. I ordered my scrub top and consultation jacket about two weeks ago and had them sew on the patches for me, i just haven't gotten the chance to go pick them up yet. I'm just going to get black bottoms somewhere else.

I have my stethoscope, pen light, bandage scissors and watch already. I'm not sure what else we will need. I just got my scissors and light from the bookstore.

also, on the shoes, do you know if its okay if like the nike swoosh is gray or does it need to be completely black?

I wanted to start studying over the break to get a head start but wasn't really sure where to start. The new letter i received a few days ago said the syllabus was available online, but i haven't found it yet. has anyone else had any luck with that?

I would be game for the Facebook page! I just don't know how that works since we don't have everyone's name yet.

Hi guys! As far as I know (& from what they told me in the bookstore) all of the required books except the one that is Pearson brand, come in the bundle. Plus you get this card/sheet from Elsevier that allows you to get all of the books as Ebooks.

The guy said they probably won't have the bundles until at least after the semester starts... 😣 But he said we could buy (not rent) the books from them and then when the bundles come in we can just return the books we bought! I sure hope he allows everyone to do that and not just a handful of students!

I went ahead and got a couple scrub tops and had them sew the patches on (1 extra, just in case I need to change, etc), and I got a couple black bottoms from Allheart.com for cheap. They said if you already have a lab coat you can take it to the Nursing Dept and ask if it will be ok to use. I also got a couple penlights, the bandage scissors, a watch, and my stethoscope. I'm not sure on the shoes, but I think it should be fine. Just as long as they are mostly black or mostly white, and don't have super crazy colors!

I haven't been able to find the syllabus online, either! I saw the Student Handbook on the schools website, but not a syllabus?

The facebook idea would be a really great idea!! I saw one on there for another class, not too long ago!

Hi there! I just got a phone call a week and a half ago letting me know that I was accepted at OSU-OKC! They told me to mark my calendar for the orientation and that I would be getting info in the mail. Still haven't gotten anything..........After reading all of your posts I AM FREAKING OUT! Haha

i got a letter for a kristen fletcher in the mail with my address on it right before Christmas, I emailed the nursing advisor but I got an auto reply saying they were out of the office until the 5th so I wasn't sure what to do. I felt so bad knowing I might have someone else important news and no idea how to tell anyone, I tried Facebook search but didn't have any luck.

Oh man! Yes that's me! It's Kristin with an i, maybe that's why no luck on Facebook? But yay! I'm at least glad to know I wasn't called by mistake haha I guess I will get on the ball getting things done. Surely if they made a mistake with getting the info to me, that can't be held against me?

Lo, Lisa, tfletch: Did you all gain access to the syllabus? My D2L/o-key/email will not be activated until noonish tomorrow so I'm not able to see if it's on D2L yet.
