Published

UCLAs application for their Summer 2017 New Graduate Residency program opened this weekend so figured I'd start the forum where we could all converse, update and support each other through the LONG and stressful process.

That's awesome! How was the interview like? What kind of questions?

did anyone who interviewed with Oncology get a unit tour?

I didnt. It didn't seem like they were offering them either..? But not sure. Did sound like they're going to do second interviews though.

yeah, I don't think they were doing them like other units were. well, happy waiting game :)

So oncology and neuro/trauma ICU had their interviews on the same day? I'm just curious bc there were a lot of us there in the HR office haha

I know for sure there were 2 other units having interviews beside oncology.

Did anyone else interview for Neuro/Trauma ICU today? I had my interview today, and it seemed like it went well. They were very friendly, and all they really asked about are questions to get to know me better. I was offered a tour of the unit at the end and it was such an incredible experience!

I had my interview yesterday and I believe it went well. They were very nice and welcoming. I was offered a tour of the unit at the end. I hope that is a good sign. Please let me know as soon as you hear anything and I will do the same.

So oncology, neuro trauma ICU,and...? Sorry just curious!

For anyone who did a unit tour after your interview, how long did your day end up being(like what time did your interview start and end)? I'm trying to figure out if I should change my return flight...

My appointment was at 2 and I didn't have my turn until about 2:30. The interview took about 30 min. Then I took the shuttle to the main hospital to do the tour for another half hour. So it took about 2 hours in total for me.

I didn't have a tour after, but timeline wise everything was already running a little behind. My interview was scheduled for 1pm and I wasn't even called back to begin the interview until closer to 230pm. Everyone there was so gracious and kind, but make sure to factor delays like that into your timeline.

All in all it took me about 2 hours. I believe it is better to plan your interview as if it will take 3 hours. Good luck!
