UCLA New Grad Winter 2015

Published

Does anyone have an idea when the applications go up for the Winter 2015 cohort for UCLA RN new grad residency? Also, what is the minimum GPA required to apply? I have heard different things; some such as GPA at UCLA matters to an extent and others say that you need an extremely high GPA. My GPA is not low by any means, but it is average. Thanks!

I interviewed a little over two weeks ago and got the email last week. But as others have said, every unit is different in terms of their timeline, so I would go based off what they told you at interviews as far as when you should expect to hear back! Good luck!

@ang_348 I received it on Friday

Hey @LA_gal and @shamu12! I did have a second interview with UCLA's PICU this past Friday. I wasn't given any info on when they would be making their decisions though. I've just been anxiously/patiently waiting.

@hellokt what day was your first interview?

I interviewed Dec. 3rd and 12th.

Thank you Shiivers for that info! I appreciate it. Its not even 2 weeks for me anyway so I'm Praying I will get the link! I interviewed for Med-Surg and as you have stated, every unit has different timelines.

To HelloKt- For your second interview, what Q's did they ask you? Are they almost the same as your first one with scenarios or more behavioral? Good Luck by the way! :nurse:

Did you received a link for additional references too?

They asked me similar questions from the initial interview. It seemed like they were trying to get to know me and see if I would be a good fit and handle the stress.

@hopefulrn4 no. I didn't receive an email about additional references. I have read in other forums that that was what other departments did in lieu of a second interview. I'm not sure if PICU will send out an email for references after the 2nd interview.

@hellokt ..did they have multiple applicants on the tour? I'M curious to know if they are still interviewing people

I think that if you havent received or heard anything from them ( link to addt references/2nd interview) by now, we are out of race :( medsurg already sent links.

They interviewed people 1 at a time. It seemed like as one person was going on a tour of the unit, another was being interviewed by the staff. It looked like they had a stack of resumes of people they were interviewing that day too so I'm not sure how far along they are in this second interview phase.
