I'm external!

do you guys know if they send out interview invites in waves or usually just all at once? 🫣

I also heard back from PICU! A total of 18 spots with 2 remaining!

Does anyone know if the 12 interview slots for NICU are 12 for Santa Monica and 12 for Ronald Reagan? Or is it 12 total? Just trying to see my chances 😭

Pretty sure mine specified Ronald Reagan and there were 12 spots.
I think someone else said they got the invite from Santa Monica and there were 6 spots.

Anyone else starting to give up on getting hired as an external applicant? Feels impossible.

I thought someone said there were only 6 slots total? Wow only 2 spots left for PICU?!  I'm getting discouraged.

Honestly, it is really tough just because they get so so so many applicants. This is a long process and for sure they will be sending out more interview invites throughout the month so don't give up yet.

as someone who is vested and has worked at UCLA for 12 years, I'm not in any way guaranteed to have a job either, I get one interview, which is basically one shot and then after that, I may not get any anymore either. What I have been told by a lot of my nurse friends is that it is actually way easier to get in after you have one to two years of experience, the new grad is definitely the most competitive. if I don't get in this time around. I'm probably just gonna work at a smaller hospital until I can come back with experience.
