I'm posting this as the UCLA Health applications open up today for Summer 2023. Want to have a chance to connect!

I'm looking at applying for the next cohort, and have heard that they heavily take students that graduated from UCLA.
Are there folks on here that got offers, but went to schools other than UCLA?
Thanks!
Hi! I also did not attend UCLA's nursing program and was hired for the hematology/oncology unit at Ronald Reagan. So it's definitely possible to get hired as a nurse at UCLA without ever being a student or previous employee there.

How was your interview with MICU? I have one for this upcoming round and it's my dream job! Any tips or types of questions they ask would be super helpful, and if you know how many they usually hire (there was 12 interview spots) 🙂
There are multiple MICU units at RR. I have a family member that was in the 2022 Fall cohort. Her MICU is heavily populated by pulmonary patients. For her cohort, and the three cohorts that have started since, the unit hired 4 new grads. FYI - Attrition rate for the last 4 cohorts has been 25%, with only 3 of the 4 hires making it through the probationary period.

There is only one MICU unit at RR! But there are several other ICUs you can see all the units on the link 🙂 https://www.uclahealth.org/hospitals/reagan/our-units-floors The attrition rate is interesting though. It's hard to believe they would put so much time/money/resources in that many new grads and let them go unless for a good reason

Hi! I went to school in San Diego and was hired in the NICU at Ronald Reagan. Good luck!
