UCLA MSN/APRN FALL 2020

Published

Hi y’all! Just wanted to start a thread for the UCLA MSN Fall 2020 Cohort! Days are feeling longer and longer since submitting the apps. What program did you guys apply for? I applied for the FNP program!

I still havent heard anything... anyone get the scholarship prompt yet?

Does anyone know what our schedule will look like for our first term? Which days or how many days/ hours a day of classes?

Hi Everyone! Just created a fb group for us so we can share info more easily! Its under UCLA APRN class of 2022.

I can’t find it

I also was unable to find it.

I tried multiple combinations of

ucla+APRN+2022 but nothing showed except the APRN 2021 group

Maybe it's the privacy setting for the group?

Hi! Anyone have tips on what they think made them a strong applicant?

4.0 nursing school GPA

2.5 years as a cardiac tele RN

Participated in shared governance council for 2 years

Strong letters of rec

Strong personal statement/statement of purpose. I didn’t do so hot during undergrad before nursing school, so I explained how I took it as a learning experience and how I’ve improved

I highly recommend going to an info session if they’re having them and if you’re close by

I applied with 3.8 Nursing GPA, 2 years of experience in the ICU/step-down/floor, strong letters of recommendations, and medical missions/volunteering. I also spent a lot of time on my personal statement/statement of purpose. I think it really helps to be able to know why you want to pursue a certain specialty based on your experiences.
