Yes! I am also waiting to get approved to join the fb group. Jaime said that the grad office will send us the official letter and then we need to submit our SIR through the letter formally.

Btw, for those still waiting in the alternative list. The 1st round of waitlist acceptance has until March 12th to submit their decision, so hang in there folks!

Hi everyone!

I'm super late to the party. Wish I'd known about this thread when I was applying/waiting ANXIOUSLY these last few months! I was number 5 on the waitlist and got accepted yesterday. Feeling so so so humbled and excited.

I'd love to start getting to know everyone on here that will be my classmate in the fall! (and even those who won't be).

Hi there! Last time we know, #5 got accepted based on our FB group. But keep in mind that not many people know and join our FB group ? We have until March 12th to submit our SIR, so you should hear from ucla after then. You can also email Mark to check your current status, many people do that!

Hi, current MECN here. Just know that last year, we had 14 students from the waitlist. And the 14th student heard back 2 days AFTER school started. So there is SO much time to hear back. Majority of waitlist decreases after the initial acceptances and around the time after orientation (around August). So don't dwell on waiting and get on that epi class requirement! Mark will email you when you get pretty close on the waitlist (around spot 2-3). You can definitely email him for updates but I would wait to not bombard him every week with an update! I tried to stick to once a month and I found out on Sept 1.

Thank you for the information! Can I you a quick couple of question regarding orientation? It looks like there are 2 orientation that we need to attend, the 1 in July and 1 more in Sept. What’s the difference between those orientation? And last year, was the Summer orientation done in-person?

There was only one orientation for us, which was on July 30th I believe. The one in September may be one for lab courses right before classes start (usually theres a quarter start date and a class start date to allow for orientation before labs or clinicals). Orientation was online through zoom and recorded. I think this is the time people realize they can't do nursing school because the orientation is kinda intense and a lot of info, and drop out, which is why spots clear up from the waitlist after this time. So since I wasn't accepted by then, I just watched the recording.
