Hello All!
I'm applying to UCLA's MECN program this year for Fall 2020. Who else is applying? I hope we can all support each other through this process. ?
What are some of the questions you may have about the application process?
No updates. Technically those who have been accepted don't have an official date to submit their SIR by per the UCLA Graduate Admissions department. So it's basically just a waiting game for people who have already been admitted to decide they will not attend, and for them to notify Mark that they won't come. They said this could happen even up until the first week of school.
They have an all-day orientation scheduled for July 30th, and you can still be offered a place in the class after that. If that does happen, you just do the orientation one-on-one with the faculty department.

Thanks for the update. Hope to hear soon, but it really is a waiting game. Good luck

With school closures due to covid, I’m sure they’re not going to be in office everyday as well.

I called them yesterday and I got a response. UCLA is effectively shutting down until the middle of April due to COVID-19 through.
I hope people have options if UCLA doesn't work out though. I am committing to another school for now, until I hear back

Out of curiosity, what other schools did you get into?
For anyone that got admitted off the waitlist, have y'all received your official acceptance letter from UCLA?
On the email it said it could take 2-3 weeks and it has been 2 weeks for me since I got the email I was accepted, so I still have a week to wait but I was just wondering if others have waited this long as well.

I'm still waiting on the official acceptance letter too. I'm going to wait until Monday to reach out since things are probably really busy for them right now. Let me know if you hear any updates!

I got into UCI and USD. I committed to UCI this week, but will likely matriculate to UCLA if I get off the waitlist.
UCI is a great program, though. It's relatively knew; I think the Class of 2022 is their 4th master's class ever. It has more of an emphasis on community and population health, as opposed to UCLA and clinical health. It's also a smaller program (20 students vs 70 students).

Hi! I got the official acceptance letter last night at 11pm, March 18th. For a reference, I got the email from Mark that I was admitted off the waitlist on March 3th. I think you should be getting yours soon as well!
