UCLA MECN FALL 2013

Published

Have been looking around and haven't really seen a topic on this yet. This is my dream school/program. I am from Seattle so I am having to get a lot of info from them long-distance instead of going to an information session. Has anyone gone to an information session yet?

I have not received the email either, and it's making me very nervous..

For those who haven't received a letter, it's an email from the graduate division. Maybe it depends when you emailed the contact person accepting admission offer? I'm sure it will come soon!:)

I sent email acceptance on the 4th and received my grad division email letter early yesterday morning.

For nursing3 physio session C, I found out grades are submitted in time since it's through UCLA.

Hello all. Congrats to all of u that got accepted. If you guys don't mind, will you please tell us the non-accepted your background and what you talked about in your statement of purpose? Maybe this will help us for next year. Most of my healthcare experience is from volunteering and internships as a MA and phlebotomist. I currently work in a cord blood bank. I honestly thought my statement and background was strong enough to get accepted. Apparently UCLA didn't think so :-(

I am a senior in college and will graduate with my BS in may. In my statement, I stressed my goal to become a CNL and the importance of patient care through this position. I spent a ton of time writing my statement and went through many revisions. Also, I used the evaluation sheet and was able to check off many of the required items in my statement. If you are able to cover all bases and then some, you should be good to go!

I worked in biotech/health policy and have an MPH. I did a lot of volunteer work and really focused on the CNL aspect of the essay. I explained what made me want to become a nurse and specifically why UCLA was the ideal match for me. I also had the checklist in front of me while completing the statement to make sure I covered everything they asked for.

I also met with my recommenders to explain the program to them and what appealed to me about it so they had as much info as possible before writing my letter.

Good luck next year!!

Hey nextway55, have you received the official email yet?

Any news about the wait list guys? I'm dying over here! Haha

Not yet

I think the people on the alternate list won't hear back for a while because the admissions office is still fielding responses from those who were accepted. I'd give it another week or so before we start hearing anything.
