UCI New Grad RN Residency 2020

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to start this thread for those who are applying to Clinical Nurse I positions at UC Irvine Medical Center! There's not that much info on what to expect so if you have any insight on the applications/timeline/interview process/etc. please feel free to share here ?

I've applied to 5 Clinical Nurse I positions since January and the status for 2 of them have changed from "Application Received" to "Application Under Review". Not loving the waiting game, but I'm happy to see something change.

Thank you for creating a thread regarding UCI Medical Center New Grad Residency Program 2020. I have also applied to the Clinical Nurse I positions in January 2020 and one of my applications status changed to, "application under review". I agree the anticipation of patiently waiting for a call is part of the process. However, I am so glad to see a new status on my portal application providing me a glimpse of hope.

What unit did apply for?

Thanks for replying, NurseSalzy! I've applied to a few Med surg positions, a Surgical Step Down unit, and an Acute Rehab unit. So far my status changed for the Medical/Surgical 5T- F/T- Days, and the Surgical Step Down Unit-FT- Nights to "Application Under Review". How about you?

Currently, the position I applied for that is in "application under review" is Surgical Step Down-FT-Nights. I am curious to know how many positions the hiring manger is looking to fill. Secondly, when does the Clinical Nurse I position start? I am optimistic and eager for an opportunity to be part of prestigious teaching hospital. Hi hi! I also applied to the Clinical I Nurse positions at UCI Medical Center. My applications status are “applications received.” ? I’m so jealous that your guys status are “under review.” That’s definitely a good thing! When did you guys submit your applications???

Hi! Thank you so much for joining us. I submitted the apps the last week of January and the status changed last week to "Application Under Review" on 2/17 and 2/19. It's still has the same status and I haven't gotten any emails or anything.

WOW!! That makes sense, you submitted your application earlier than me then.. maybe that’s why! But hopefully you get a call or email soon. ??

Good afternoon nursingstudentnomo,

I submitted my job application on January 23rd, 2020. Even though my application status states "under review", I have yet to receive a call for an interview or any notifications about the hiring process. I hope all of us get an opportunity to begin our nursing professional journey.

Just wondering when all of you graduated or when you will be graduating. Does anyone know when jobs for the current postings would start? I'm wondering if I should apply even though I don't graduate until May?

Likewise! I'm graduating in May, so not sure when UCI opens up their application (doesn't seem like they have an actual application process for a new grad "residency").
