UCI MEPN Fall 2019

Published

Hello Everyone! Anyone applying for the MEPN Program at UC Irvine this year? Keep us updated if you receive any new information from the school! :)

Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting. I was notified yesterday evening around 1500 that I was placed on the waitlist. As of yet, I have not been informed as to what number I am. Anyone else on the waitlist? Wishing everyone the best and hope that we hear some good news. For those who have not heard back yet, please keep your head up and continue to make yourself the best future nurse that you can be. Fighting!

Hey guys!! Congrats to everyone who got accepted! I've been looking into the program and the campus, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a fb group for our cohort? Just in case people wanted to figure out any living plans, exchange info, and in general just get to know each other. I've never lived in OC, so I'm hoping I can figure out a living situation ASAP ?

Hey, I think starting a facebook group would be an awesome idea! :D personally for me, if I don't end up getting accepted into the program in SD, then i'll 100% be down for looking for a roommate(s)/figuring out the living situation since I myself have never lived in OC either! ?

@megaronis I got a reply from them on the 12th after I sent in my confirmation email on the 10th. However before the reply, I got an email from the graduate division on the 11th saying my application status had changed and to send in my SIR.

@jellydonutO I'm totally down to join a fb group, that's a great idea!!

Hi guys! A FB group would be great! I'm moving from Norcal so I would like to figure out housing soon!

Guys, I have a question....once our classes start for this program do we have to maintain a 3.0GPA throughout the program or a 2.0? I know that every school is different

Hey guys! So I'm trying to make a fb group for our cohort rn, but it won't let me make a group unless I add one of my friends on Facebook to the group LOL. I know this seems sketch but could a couple people possibly tell me their Facebook name so I can add you and then create the group and link other ppl on this thread? ? I'm really hoping to figure out housing!

LOL I wasn't sure if anyone was gonna make the group, so I started making one too. I was able to make one by adding one of my friends and then cancelling the invite. Here's a link, hopefully it goes directly to the group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/652293755199816/

@megaronis omg blessss!!! Thank you hahaha! Just joined! ?

@megaronis woohoo! I just requested to join as well!

Is anyone applying to on campus housing?

Hi everyone,

Hoping the best for those who are still on the waitlist. I am mainly writing this post for those who will be applying in the future and who end up on the waitlist like I did. It is possible. I received my admission offer from UCI the other day. I had already mentally started accepting that I would need to wait another year for nursing school. And it's okay if you do. If being a nurse is your dream, you will find a way, even if it may take a little longer than expected. Every experience that you gain in the meantime will make you an even better future nurse. Keep fighting!

Hi @SnackKitty. I am currently still on the waitlist for this cycle and hoping I will also have the good fortune of receiving an acceptance soon. I am wondering, how did they contact you? Was it through email or did they call you? Also, how much time did they give you to accept the offer? Is there a deposit needed to secure your spot? Thank you and congrats to you!

Hello @JustJane. Thank you so much. I was contacted via e-mail on 23APR and was given until 29APR to confirm my enrollment. A deposit is not required. Summer course fees are $1,577. There are some additional pre-program costs that will discussed prior to or during orientation, which include health insurance, supplies, and uniform. The school also sent some instructions on how to purchase scrubs which need to be completed by 07MAY in order to receive them by the start of the program. I hope I was able to answer your questions. I'm rooting for you and wish you the best!
