UCI MC New Grad August 2011

Did anybody else apply for the New Grad positions at UCI Medical Center?? There for 3 postings.. 1 for med/surg, 1 for Surgical Step Down and 1 for Burn ICU. Has anybody heard anything yet?

EDIT - OOPS I don't know why I put August 2011. I must've been thinking about another program. I'm not quite sure when it starts.... sorry! :o

I applied to med/surg and surgical step down.. haven't heard anything from them yet. Have you? are they still planning to call at the end of this month? that's what i heard...

Oh really? When I called about a week after I applied, she said 4-6 weeks so I really wasn't sure.. I just haven't heard anything from them yet.. hopefully we hear from them soon! :) do you know how many people applied?

If you want to read it from day 1, read older posts first. I believe it starts with the interview in Feb 2011.

Yes, I start orientation this Monday. I will be working in ICU-Medical. It was nice reading the blog so that I know what to expect. When someone said 6 months of didactic I was thinking that I was going to be in a classroom for 6 months before being on floor. Now I guess I will be on floor sooner then I thought. I've been out of school for a year so I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure I'l be just fine.

Ooh congrats!! I don't remember seeing a posting for that unit. Yeah they usually combine didactic classes with clinical experience on the floor with a preceptor. Good luck! Let us know how it goes :)
