UCI BSN Fall 2023

Hi!  I'm applying to transfer to UCI, and curious to hear from anyone else who is, too!

My overall GPA isn't great (3.5), but my science GPA is a little better (3.7ish).  I have some work experience, 3 years full time as an EMT, and I'm currently working in the ED at UCI Medical Center.  I'm hoping that will help my case since my GPA is sub par, but I actually have no idea.

Good luck, everyone!!

Hi! I'm also applying for transfer to UCI!!

My current overall GPA is 3.94 (including dual enrollment from high school), and my science GPA is 4.0; I finished all of the prereqs! I have my CNA certification, but I don't have any work experience due to transportation issues <//3 But, I'm very involved at my community college!

I'm a little worried about my chances due to the low acceptance rate last year (only 7 transfers were admitted <//3) so I think my chances are higher at UCLA since they have a supplemental application + they are admitting 20+ transfers!

Good luck to both of us!!

Hey everyone! I am also applying as a transfer for fall of 2023. I was just wondering if anyone has received an email request for unofficial transcripts? Apparently last year those that received it received it around first week of March, and those that did were accepted.

nothing yet, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for the next week or so and report back if I see anything.

tbh I'm not feeling incredibly optimistic about the UCs, though, but its OK. I got an acceptance email from my backup program today, and I'm optimistic about a couple others. my stats came out looking a lot better for the cal states and CCs.

I was accepted last year and I did receive a request for my unofficial transcript. I believe if they asked for transcripts they are heavily considering you for admission or the waitlist. Good luck!

Hello, I've been reading about your application process for a while! Thank you for being open about your stats and your acceptances.

If possible, can you please tell me the exact date of the email that you received regarding your request for unofficial transcripts that you recieved from the UC?

Thank you so much.

No I have not :’) Have you?

To be honest, I don't have high hopes for UCI but I'm trying to hope for the best and expect the worst!

 Good luck everyone! ◡̈

That's awesome news. I actually emailed the Office of Undergraduate Admissions regarding this "myth" (if you will), and here is what they responded to me:

"All information on the UC application is self-reported.   If students receive an email requesting unofficial transcripts, it's because there is something in the application that needs clarification, such as an incomplete grade or academic renewal."

I honestly don't think the UC requesting unofficial transcripts is indicative of anything
