UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014

Published

Hello!

The application window starts January 1st, which is a couple weeks away from now. I am excited to apply though and see what happens. Who else is planning to apply here?

I am planning on applying to both the accelerated and traditional pathways.

Hey everybody! I'm not new to these forums, but this is my first post. I applied to the traditional BSN program for UCF and I was waitlisted. I am incredibly optimistic that everything will work out though. I just wanted to congratulate everyone who got accepted, and figured that it was time to start communicating with some like-minded people. By chance, does anyone know what the stats are for UCF's waitlist? I can't get anybody to return my calls, and I just would like to know about how many people are on the list and about how many can expect to join the cohort in the Fall. Anyway have a great day, and Happy Easter!!!

RylanGator - have you tried emailing? I have fast responses from UCF by email. Good luck - hope everything works itself out. :)

I have orientation on May 9th as well.

It would be great not to spend the entire day without meeting others in the program! I will be there alone.

I believe everyone will be separated into groups but I am not sure how it is done exactly.

Almost forgot - I asked someone who currently goes to UCF about orientation and they told me this,

"... first you meet and they have a presentation. Then they will split everyone into groups and tour the campus, and go over all of the services available to students. Then you go back for lunch and then they take you to sign up for classes."

I don't know whether we sign up for classes at the end though - as our classes are already determined... Guess we will find out soon enough.

Interesting. I wonder if it's groups by major or what. Thanks for the info, though! I would very much like to meet anyone who's coming then. Hopefully it is by major that they divide us so that they can give us more specific information. I was told the nursing advisors would be present for orientation that day as well.

I've done UCF orientation twice, and here's how it works

Everyone students and guest sit in a big room listen to a presentation about how awesome the school is, then guest get's separated from students. Then students get called by majors, and nursing is it's own category, ABSN, tradition, RN To BSN all go. Then once youre in the room with the CON advisors its gets spilt up more to ABSN, RN to BSN, Prenursing and so on. SO I'm 99% sure you guys will get to see each other, granted that you choose the same day.

Hey Everybody! I just got my email today that I have been taken off the waitlist and given conditional acceptance for the General BSN program this Fall! I look forward to meeting all of you as we take this next big step in our journey to becoming nurses! Which orientation should I be signing up for? Also, when is this Starbucks meet up that everyone is referring to?!

Congrats RylanGator!

You have to sign up for UCF's (regular orientation), and then we will also have a nursing specific orientation from what I understand, that will come later. I signed up for the May 9th orientation - as did several others here.

Has anyone received anything after the acceptance email? How did you know to sign up for orientation?

Hey RylanGator- Can you tell me when you need to accept your seat by? I'm waiting to hear for the SSC/UCF concurrent and hoping that once they have you guys sorted out then they tell us who they're accepting four our program.. Thanks!

The orientation we are talking about is UCF's transfer student orientation.

I have not received anything regarding the nursing program specifically. Not since the acceptance email and the follow up confirmation email which said they received my RSVP/acceptance.
