Starting a thread for others applying to this program!

Hey guys! I would like to share to you that last year I was supposed to have applied to the basic program as well. My roommate and I were goin to be applying together, since we were both in our last pre req course. All I had left was to take the TEASA. I had high GPAs also. I took off of work for a whole week and studied for the teas. I knew I had to get at least a 74 to be considered. At the end of the teas, my score popped up and it was a 73.5 I was devastated. I stared at the screen for a minute before finally leaving the testing center. I dreaded calling my mom to tell her the news being she always said "I would make it in" after I told her I felt like a failure and couldn't stop crying. I questioned what I would do next. A few weeks later, my roommate got accepted into the basic program. Although I was happy for her, I couldn't help but feel extremely disappointed in myself.

Next semester I learned about the concurrent programs. So I was looking into trying for the SCC concurrent. I took the teas again and got a 78.7!! I figured I had a great chance of getting into the concurrent. When I got that decision email, I was placed on the wait list. I didn't know whether to be happy upset disappointed anxious or grateful. I was grateful, I waited all summer, checking my email every day to see if I got off the wait list. It never happened.

Yet again I felt disappointed and depressed. Few months later, I yet again took the teas. I studied little by little for a whole MONTH only to get a few points higher, a 83.3. I wasn't sure how competitive I was but I applies to the basic. Then I got an email for the interview!!! I was so nervous during the interview but tried to convince them as much as I can that this was my passion and I wouldn't stop until I got there.

A few days later I got an ACCEPTANCE email!!!! I broke down and cried forever.

So in conclusion, do NOT give up on your dreams. I have realized everything was meant to be, and everybody has "their time" keep pushing forward and don't ever doubt yourself!!! Good luck to you all wait listed. If it is your DREAM you will never give up. Please dont ever give up. YOU WILL GET THERE, believe in yourself!!!!!

This is such a beautiful story it brought tears to my eyes. I know exactly how you felt. Our stories are very similar. I got very discouraged too, to the point that when they excepted me I was so surprised lol I didn't know what to do when I got that acceptance email. I was crying, laughing, and jumping up and down all at the same time lol that was three days ago and I'm still too exited to sleep hahaha congratulations to you for hanging in there, and hopefully this will be an encouragement to all those still waiting!

Thank you livingadream!!! I know we both came a long way... But we finally made it!! Congratulations to you for getting in!!

I wish you were in my class :)

I was waitlisted and plan on applying to UCF cocoa/daytona when the application opens. I also have looked into a few of the community/state colleges in Florida to apply for their Spring programs!

Does anyone know how it works if someone is accepted to another program and they decide to decline their acceptance to UCF? Does the college have them call in and declare it or is there like a deadline for when they have to accept officially?

Hey guys, I know nobody has been on this thread in awhile but I wanted to revive it with some possibly good news.

The decision letters for UF have gone out, and I know already of a couple people that got into UCF that will be giving up their spots to attend UF instead. So don't lose hope! :)

Hi everyone! I've been following this thread for a while, and just want to let you know usf nursing results came out as well! So all those waitpooled, good luck!

Any waitlisters receive good news? I emailed asking about changes to the waitlist and I haven't gotten a response

I havent heard anything yet but I was told that July 6th last year was the deadline for those accepted to officially claim their spots. So that orientation could happen. If this year is the same date then that would mean the weeks following would begin the start of the waitpool shrinking!

Right now we are working on getting physicals, immunizations, tb test and drug test submitted. The deadline for all of that is approaching (July 15) so there may be some ppl that don't complete everything in time.... I've heard from the seniors they even call people in the waitpool the DAY before orientation with open spots. Just hang in there :)
