UCF 2013 Fall-Orlando generic BSN applicants?

Starting a thread for others applying to this program!

@mrsbacktoschool

Eeek! Today is the committee day to decide on the Accelerated Program! That means you guys should be getting your letters right after mine. We got ours on Thursday, 2 weeks before the interview date, so I think you'll get yours towards the end of this week!

Also- interview. DONT freak out about it. I totally did.

They herd about 20-30 people into a large lecture room, let you stew for a little while (depending on how early you arrive), explain the process a little, then break into groups of 4-6 people with 2 faculty members and 1 community nurse education member. They ask 5 questions about VERY basic questions, like your personal motivation, what you want to do in 5 years, etc. You don't even have an order of how to answer the questions. Just enjoy the conversation and be genuine. That's it! No grilling you, no behavioral questions, nada. The scantrons are actually a relief- considering how many people's information got mixed up in the application process. You get to write your own name and the applicant number on each of the 3 scantrons. You give them to the interviewers before you leave and that's how they record your scores.

So, as you can see- it isn't meant to intimidate or scare. Just to design the perfect group of people to get through the program.

if it's 20-30 people each hours thats about 160 people they are interviewing. so 40 of them will just be dropped if they don't like you?

Hi everyone! Congrats to all of you who got interviews! I am applying next year. Would anyone mind sharing their stats? I am looking to improve my teas scores before applying. I have a 4.0 pre req and 3.77 overall. Thank you and good luck!

PR: 3.83

Cum: 3.84

TEAS: 88.7

Good luck! Hopefully by next February they'll have all of the kinks worked out (background check BEFORE deadline, etc.). I avoided the hassles by taking the approach that I would be accepted...might as well take care of everything sooner rather than later. I just wish I had stumbled upon this thread sooner.

Assuming your interview went ok and you almost made it in, then you would most likely be placed on the waiting list. Unfortunately, the waiting list disappears once classes begin.

Anybody for the 10:00 interview ?! And I know by this point, everyone is atleast on the waitlist. The interview is the last part for the decision. Otherwise, after the interview is done you are either waitlist or in.

I figure if there is an average of 5 per group, there will probably be two groups going at the same time alternating every 30 minutes which makes 26 total appointments. That makes 130 interviewees going for 120 slots leaving 10 on the wait list. Good luck to all.

For the accelerated interviews there were 5 groups interviewing at the same time. 100 people interviewed for only 60 spots, 40 were wait listed.

I'm going at 10:00 :)

I think there would be more than 10 applicants wait listed.... Just my two cents

I agree. I believe more than 10 would be waitlisted, considering 40% of the accelerated applicants were waitlisted. Although I would love for our chances to be that high!

I'm estimating about 180 people being interviewed altogether. 120 for the program and 60 for wait list. That would sound more realistic.

I'll take the odds of 1.5 out of 2 of getting in.

3.75 overall
