UCF BSN Spring 2014 Hopefuls / Applicants Daytona Cocoa Campus

Published

Starting a thread for the applicants to the University of Central Florida Daytona and Cocoa Campus, with the starting semester of Spring 2014. Anyone else out there?

I am a hopeful for the Cocoa campus. This forum has been a lot of help to me over the past few months. I'll have a 4.0 in prereqs but I have to retake the TEAS as I only got a 73% when I tried in July :( I'm taking it on 13th so definitely in crunch time and definitely stressing because it would be pretty depressing to have worked this hard (took 4 sciences this summer) and not even be able to apply because of the TEAS. Does anybody in the program think I have a shot if I get a minimum/"low" TEAS score? I'm hoping the 4.0 will save me. Good luck to all!

I think you definitely have a chance if you can get at least the minimum TEAS score. I was in the same boat as you in regards to the TEAS score and I got in. They try to look at the whole picture with grades, TEAS, and interview so don't count yourself out!

As far as I know they do take into account your overall GPA, your prerequisite GPA, TEAS and your interview. Obviously having a higher TEAS score will help. Good luck on your test!!

Just out of curiosity what is everyone's teas scores and cum gpa? Also for the people who are already students and got accepted what was ur gpa and teas score. Also does anyone know how many people get interviewed and how many get in?

Have you previously had an interview? How stressful is it? I heard they are group interviews?

The interviews weren't stressful at all. They made everything really relaxed and it was more of a conversation between the applicants.

I think they said something like 150 or so people were interviewed and 40 people taken for each campus. The interviews are not as bad as u might think they are. There is a thread on AN that has a list of popular interview questions that was very helpful.

@Mljnp. My TEAS score was an 82.7% with my prerequisite GPA at 4.0 and my cumulative GPA at 3.74. What about yours?

I am taking my teas next week. I took it years ago but it was a different version so have to retake it. Had kids so havent applied in a while lol. My GPA is 3.75 how do I figure out my pre req gpa? I ahve gotten mostly A's and I think 2 b's out of the 7. If I do not get into this one am thinking about doing BCC program then doing a bridge for bsn. I would love to be able to get in and start this January though!! I have been studying for Teas so hopefully it will pay off.

how would I find that thread? I am curious to see!

Who all has already put in your application?

I already put in my application! Nervous about the interview though.

Knight Nurse...any tips on interviews? And yes I would be interested in seeing that thread too! Thank you in advance for the advice given to us applicants...

Do you also think we should review certain material before going into the program? Like some AP, Chem, ect?

Lastly..do you think it is possible to work 1st semester? I plan on working 1 8 hr shift a week if I get in...doable while maintaining good grades?

If you dont mind me asking what was your gpa and teas score? I take the teas this week. Kinda nervous, I feel like so much lays on this one test!! Ahhh! lol
