Hi! I'm really surprised there are not any active threads for this yet. I resorted to reading last years to get an idea of everything, aha. I only really plan to apply to the basic bsn in the orlando campus since I think I have a good shot at getting in (knock on wood). I'm glad they updated the college of nursing page so that it is a lot more comprehensive with even average stats of those admitted last year. Makes it a little less stress
Gotcha. I know it, January 1st can't get here fast enough. I'm just hoping the background check isn't as complicated as I'm imagining. From reading the forum, it seems like it isn't, but you never know.
For cumulative GPA, how do you calculate to add prerequisites with the previous GPA (I already have a bachelor's)? Thanks!
I am so glad someone started a thread for this, haha. I am also applying to the accelerated program but honestly I'm not really expecting to get in. I am within the average statistics they posted on the website for everything except for being .03 GPA points below the science GPA low range... Super frustrating but I figured applying would be worth a shot at least since each applicant pool varies so much. I'm also applying to UNF and USF (both accelerated) and if I don't get into those I'll apply to the SSC/UCF concurrent program. I am just ready to get started already! :)
Valladrama, I am imagining that background check to be pretty complicated, too haha but i'm sure it will end up being much simpler than what we are fearing. And i wish i could help you with the GPA situation but I don't know either! I keep waiting for UCF to do a degree audit so I can see what my UCF GPA will be... Until then I'm just kind of estimating it
I wanna say for the back ground check, we just put in our identification infor like our social, license, name, etc and it will see if any are linked to arrests or trouble. So it's easy on our end I think. And for your gpa, look at your degree audit on myucf and it will have a Ucf gpa listed in there :)
Welcome, jdp! Sorry, didn't mean to leave you out, but I was a bit distracted in the last few days with the New Year and all that jazz. It's worth applying, never know how the applicant pool is like, just as you said. I've just submitted my application...oh, boy! Now, I have to complete the whole finger-printing and background check process - they really thorough with their selections, lol.
Just needed to know my cumulative GPA and know the prefixes and name of the nursing prereq courses and when I took them. If you have already have a bachelor's, you can always go to here: https://www.flvc.org/my-records and click on "Unofficial Transcript" on the left side. This will pull up your transcript without having you to order it for yourself. It seems that when I looked at my unofficial transcript, it added up the GPA from my bachelor's plus the courses I took this past year. Because the GPA is different than what I have on my official one (on paper).

Searched the forum and haven't seen any thread for "hopefuls" for UCF's Accelerated and/or Traditional Basic Nursing program for 2015. I'm applying to both since the deadline to apply overlap each other. If I don't make it...then I'm trying for the Coca Beach branch and then lastly, the UCF/SSC Concurrent programs.
Anyone else?
