Hello everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com and I just wanted to say congrats to those who got into the 2012 UCF nursing program this summer.

I am a prenursing student at UCF as I am still working on a few prerequisites before I apply to CON.

Seeing you all on here, all going through the things I'll be going through next spring makes me feel better about this whole process.

Good luck to everyone!!! Strap in! It's going to be one kind of a ride from what I've heard.

Is there anyone out there who is planning on applying to accelerated program (ABSN) that starts in summer 2013? I'm starting this thread in hopes of finding many of you who wouldn't mind going through this somewhat stressful process together! :)

I am very excited and hopeful that I'll be accepted next year. I already have a bachelor's degree in finance and investments so my #1 choice is the accelerated route, however I will also apply to the basic program as a back up option, which will start in the fall of 2013.

Anyone has taken TEAS yet? I took it in spring semester and scored 82. My overall GPA is 3.90 and prerequisite GPA 4.0 so far. I still have 4 prerequisites to complete. Should I retake the TEAS? I heard that scoring 90 or above makes you really competitive.

Thanks for all of your responses.

Best of luck!!!

Holy cow, I'm really anxious. Nothing like having all of your eggs in one basket.

I'll be the super anxious one at 8:30 in a black suit, light blue shirt, and file bag with a scarf tied to it. It has been a stressful week with our dog passing away Tuesday and trying to explain death to a 3-yr-old, having an employee quit on me without notice at work, and having my computer crash. God help me, I need a good outcome tomorrow.

Woo! Getting excited now! It will be surreal once this admission process is over and all we have left is to wait out our fate in the program haha. Did anyone get a number on how many people were taken from the waitlist to the program last year??

I'm nervous for all of you ((hugs))

Hang in there!! You got this!!

And I'm sorry about your dog :(

Speaking of all eggs in one basket, I'm in the same boat!!

Let's just all breathe people. It will be great.

We got this! They'll love us! We care so much to get into this program!! It's going to happen! :)

Hello all! Congrats to everyone who received interviews. I, too, will be interviewing tomorrow. And like everyone else, I am incredibly nervous! :-/ Anyway, this may sound like a terribly dumb question but I don't seem to get the 'red pen' posts. Am I missing something here?? Hehe!

A person from this thread had an idea of bringing 3 red pens to tomorrow's interview in order to recognize some of the people on here.

We realize that we are just a small % of all the candidates who will be interviewed tomorrow, so we figured it would be nice to spot some of us from here on the BIG DAY tomorrow by bringing 3 red pens. ;)

I don't know about last years wait list but that would really vary from year to year. I do know USF ABSN has until the 1st to accept or decline their spots so several of them are waiting on UCF cause UCF is their first choice. That means good things for USF waitlist but not so much for UCF hopefuls!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! WE'RE GOING TO DO AMAZING!!!

That's right!!! :)

Good morning! Holy cow everyone, today is the day!

Good luck everyone, do your best.

I'm so nervous but I'm just praying 50 people show up in flip-flops or something. :-)

Everyone drive safely out there.

How was it? :)

Not bad actually. Said they had 276 applicants, interviewed 100ish, with 62 seats.

Not scary. No panel, just sitting round a conference table. 3 staff and 5 applicants. General questions. No order to answer them, conversation-style.
