Anyone applying for UCF's Accelerated BSN program beginning in Summer 2012?
In the acceptance email it states which session you are accepted to. For me, it is session C. So, I was curious as to how many per cohort. I would imagine that since there is an A, B and C session, the 60 that were accepted would be broken into 3 cohorts, thereby leaving 20 (or less) per cohort. That sounds manageable to me. I am researching the student to instructor ratio. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it.
hockeyucf is correct. Your entire cohort will be attending Summer C. For the lab courses you will have about 10 students to an instructor and for academic classes it will be all of you per instructor which sounds crazy. In my experience though, I have had no trouble with accessing the instructors. They are all very approachable and available.
Also keep in mind that you will be split up into smaller groups of 10 (or less) for your clinicals. Your clinical instructors work closely with classroom instructors so they are pretty aware of what we are learning in class. So if you need to have something clarified from class often your clinical instructor can help.
The nursing orientation date has not been announced yet, correct? And when it is announced it will be about a week before the first day of class? But we should reserve a spot for regular UCF orientation now, I take it.Yep...and it's super boring and 98% of doesn't apply to second degree seeking students. It is really geared toward true college freshman. There is a breakout session though specifically for the college of nursing that is somewhat helpful. Go ahead and schedule your orientation. It'll be one thing on a list of many that you can mark off!
