I've been fired more times than I care to admit. Not from nursing (I'm a student). Looks like the way the world works is the same in every place. I was the same way. A person who is not quiet. People don't like it. It doesn't matter if you are right. It isn't fair and it isn't ideal, but unfortunately, it is the reality. Reality bites and it is a hard pill to swallow. Be quiet, put your head down, and if you don't like it, look for another place to work. I'm glad you posted this because it reminds me how I have to change to fit in to save my own ass.

hkk1895 - did you have to pay for more books after the first semester? Any big ticket items beyond what you mentioned? Any good resource on their website that you could recommend that is nursing school fee specific?

CER022512 - Yes, I am referring to financial aid. The financial award package specifically. That is for me, at least, since I am not attending orientation until April 20th. It might be different if you are attending the March 30th session, I am not sure. The FAFSA is a different process than the award from the school.

I was surprised to see that only $6250 is the top amount per semester. Can't believe they won't tell us what we get until the end of April. How does one afford the rest of life while in this program and not being able to work? I guess a personal loan?

Now comes the stress of paying for school while affording my life and not working. It is a little stressful, especially since I won't know what my financial aid package is until 2 weeks before school starts! And I can't seem to get a hold of anyone that can tell me how much I am expected to pay on day one.

I wonder if I can do the general orientation May 11th or if that would be cutting it too close. I don't live in Orlando and don't want to have to make a special trip.

The nursing orientation date has not been announced yet, correct? And when it is announced it will be about a week before the first day of class? But we should reserve a spot for regular UCF orientation now, I take it.

Oh! Okay. Yes, it does help. Although, I'm thinking we won't all be together? 60 students per class? Hmmm...

In the acceptance email it states which session you are accepted to. For me, it is session C. So, I was curious as to how many per cohort. I would imagine that since there is an A, B and C session, the 60 that were accepted would be broken into 3 cohorts, thereby leaving 20 (or less) per cohort. That sounds manageable to me. I am researching the student to instructor ratio. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it.
