Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone has any updates on the UC Davis 2024 residency? I didn't see a forum. Good luck everyone!
Do any of you think it would be safe to assume that chances for an interview are slim if I hadn't received a call? My application still says under review but I haven't received any communication beyond that for an opportunity. With so many that interviewed still waiting it seems unlikely but it's hard to move on considering how my app status hasn't changed.

Honestly, I don't know how safe our chances are at this point. I applied for their NICU, and when I emailed HR to ask for updates about my application (which still said "routed for further consideration"), she told me that the positions had already been filled. Not sure if that meant for both March and May or just March, but I'm not counting on hearing back & accepted a position in a different NICU.

Congrats! I completed a preceptorship in a level 2 trauma ICU but have had zero luck finding something in my preferred specialty. 60 applications submitted and not even a call back. I know it's a numbers game and Sacramento is super competitive, just caught me a bit by surprise. I have accepted a position working in specialty care transport and start my training soon. Originally I was waiting to see since accepting (and starting) another position would effect my eligibility with UC Davis, but at the same time I'm eager to put my skills to work and gain experience in the field.
I appreciate your perspective and thank you. I emailed a few weeks back and was told the same, that all critical care positions had been filled. They didn't specify if that included the ED, but I figure that my chances were lower at this stage of the recruiting process.

You're welcome! And congrats on accepting a new position! I precepted in a level 3 NICU, but accepted a position in a level 4. I'm in the Bay Area so I fully understand how competitive it is, especially because most of us look the same on paper/have limited to no experience. That's why I decided to apply out of state/took a new grad job in Seattle instead. I would've loved to work for UCD, but they will always be there to come back to/apply for and it'll be easier to get in with a year or 2 of experience ?.
