UC Davis Medical Center RN Residency Summer/Fall 2018

Hey my fellow new grad nurses! I just wanted to start a thread for those applying to the UC Davis RN Residency program for the August and October 2018 start dates. The application opens May 2-9. Let's keep each other updated and informed about our application/interview processes and for any additional info you may receive from other sources about the residency program (i.e. people who work there, if you did clinicals there, any info you receive from nursing recruitment).

I have been "routed" as well... Wondering if this just means some applications, in general, have been routed or ours specifically have been? Trying not to check every day but its so hard not to!

Here's some info from a member from the RNInterviewTools FB group about the UC Davis Nurse Residency Program -- "I spoke with the recruiter today. He said they started looking at applications yesterday. And he hopes for managers to call applicants for interviews starting next week."

I think being routed isn't saying much per say... but its movement nonetheless and our applications aren't just sitting around anymore. Shows we haven't been disqualified by HR and gives us an idea that they should be starting to send out interview invitations soon!

Mine says "050-Route" as well. Haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully this week. Praying, though.

Do they usually call in the morning or afternoon?

Do they leave a voicemail just in case if we're not able to answer the call?

Does it go with with 916 area code or "unknown" caller?

I am just so curious cuz I wanna pick up my phone ASAP, and I wanna be vigilant as well.

Got a call from an Adult ICU unit inviting me to interview. Missed the call and they left a voicemail. Was not from a 916 #. Manager used cell phone. Best of luck everyone!

Davis is different as they don't have a set # of positions per unit. Each unit decides individually on whether or not they have any vacancies, and then they decide on whether or not they need New Grads vs. RN's with established experience. For the last cohort, many units opted NOT to participate in the New Grad Residency program. I heard that last cohort they were calling people to interview up until 2weeks before the cohort started so it could be anytime between now and October.

Congrats on the interview offer! Can I ask which ICU invited you to interview? Also, are you a local or internal applicant? TIA
