Hello,
I recently had an interview at UBC for the accelerated RN program but I still haven't heard anything. Just curious if anyone else has been accepted yet? Any thoughts on the interview?
Thanks

They are conducting a few more interviews in the next week or so I believe, so you won't be hearing from them until all the results are in... Good Luck!
Thanks for your reply.
They are still doing interviews? did you go for one?
I hope to hear soon!!!!
good luck to you too!

Hey,
I had an interview a couple of weeks ago too.
I got really worried cuz they said someone would call in 2-3 weeks if they offered you admission and it's been almost 3 weeks.

My interview was two weeks ago and they said 2-3 weeks as well. I emailed them yesterday and they said they will be contacting people in the next couple of weeks...a phone call if admitted and a letter if declined. They seem to leave it quite late! How did you feel about the interview?
There is still hope for us :)
I was really nervous and it didn't help to see them circle a number after every answer I gave. I didn't walk outta that interview feeling too confident. The questions seemed too standard and I felt a bit awkward during the interview. But hopefully things will work out. I just wanna know now whether I got in or not.
I felt the same way. Having them taking notes and watching them circle points was a little unnerving. I too want to just know what is going on. It would be nice to know what I am doing with the next 2 years of my life!
It is silly that they leave it so late since people need to make arrangements and plans to be in vancouver. did you apply anywhere else?
Have you heard of anyone at all being notified of their status?
I actually didn't recieve a interview... not yet at least, I think they are discriminating against my age though as I'm only 19.. and alot of the people applying for this program are in their older years (with degrees already or more life experience in working etc.).
But yeah.. I'm actually pretty shocked I didn't get the interview; also from the way it seems they are conducting the interview, they seem to be the most unorganized in terms of admissions... I mean, they're giving out invites by phone!! thats so 1970's :trout:!!
It's okay though, I have UBC pharmacy as my backup.. and I was interviewed for that already yesterday, so I'm hoping that one goes through since nursing most likely wont..
I only applied for UBC cuz the deadline for U of T was earlier than UBC and I missed it and I don't have the grades for Alberta. I got into the UBC Teaching Program and my registration date is July 20, so I need to know asap if I got into the nursing program. Damn them! I live in Cloverdale, so living arrangements are not an issue for me.
Just wondering if either of you know anyone who has completed the program or is currently in the program at ubc....any feedback (good/bad, etc..)? I would love to hear people's thoughts about it...
Hopefully we will all get phone calls this week!
sorry i dont know anyone that has been thru the program
I know a few people in the program right now.. and honestly its all pretty biased info I've been getting. Everyone in UBC thinks they are getting world class education just because they are at UBC. However, the people who I talk with from *all* other colleges of nursing in BC tell me that their employers don't really like UBC Vancouver grads because they don't have enough experience in the clinical setting during the school years that they have.
But, regardless, nursing is a high demand job right now, and no matter where you go you can probably find a position. Even if you aren't stellar to start, you will be all caught up after a year and a bit of work I'm sure.
