Hi everybody! I haven't found an active discussion thread for September 2019 applicants to UBC's BSN program yet, so here is one!

Does anyone know - if you’re still in progress in a course, like myself in working on the A&P, would we have less of a chance, or do they not consider this in acceptance/rejection unless you don’t finish it by June 15?

I'm confident that they don't consider that! I'm also completing my A&P through BCIT right now

Good question!

I'm not completely sure of course, but in my experience I don't think you'll have less of a chance! I.e. when I transferred from SFU to UBC FNH in first year, they still offered me a conditional acceptance (I was only required to make sure they got my final grades/full transcripts once they were released).

Awesome thank you!

I originally only applied to UBC and was really confident in my application, but people started asking me what my back up plan was...then I started getting worried.

I wonder what the application numbers are in comparison to how many students are accepted. I couldn't really find anything online for this...

In the Vancouver area, you can always try BCIT and Langara!! I'm heading to Langara in May to take summer course pre-reqs for their Nursing Sept 2020 program as backup (my sister is in the Nursing program - Jan 2018 cohort - and she's doing well).

Douglas and KPU are other options (they're just further away).

I recently heard back from McGill and their application was due later than UBC! Getting very excited/nervous...

thats crazy! lets hope we hear something back soon!

Kinda looks like we'll be hearing about decisions the last week of April or even first week of May... It just sucks waiting around for this, especially after finals because I just wanna relax and not stress out!! :(

Let’s hope and pray we will find out by end of April and not in May ?

Has anyone called and asked for an update?

Hi everyone,

as we wait for our applications to be reviewed, have any of you applied to schools outside of BC? I recently got accepted to mcmaster and uoft and was wondering if anyone had insights on job prospects in bc if you did your education out of province. I’m kinda of worried i won’t get into ubc and uoft is looking pretty good to me haha.

I applied to UofT but I don't think my prereq of A&P is acceptable for UofT so I kind of gave up on that...
