Nursing Students School Programs

Anyone out there applying to UB's accelerated nursing program beginning in May of 2016?

No you do not need to send a transcript if you attended UB. I received an email after submitting my application that it was received. If you don't mind me asking, what are everyones stats & experiences? I am so nervous!

Hello Everyone!!!! I have also applied for next May. I am currently taking some prerequisites and my gpa is not so great 3.4

I have around 500 of volunteering hours at the local hospital.

My prerequisite GPA is a 3.9 and my overall undergrad is not so great at a 3.3. I have also volunteered at the hospital to help gain experiences. I guess it all comes down to the amount of applicants this year. Good luck to everyone!!!

Thank you! With my gpa I will need it! What other schools did you apply to?

They do weigh the application at UB 60% essay and 40% grades with prerequisite grades weighing a little higher! I have also applied to Niagara University for their accelerated nursing program.

Yeah that's what the advisor told me. I applied there as well and waiting to hear from them. I was looking to get some information from other students who went there but nothing so far

Have you had your interview at NU yet?

I missed her call and I'm going to find out tomorrow when is my interview. How about you?

I had my interview last week. It went well :)

I also had mine last week and it went really good :)

I was in UB's ABS program and graduated this past May. It's very hard but it's worth it. I had a 3.8 prereq GPA and 3.1 overall. Everyone I know from the program (including traditional students) passed NCLEX on the first try, which is huge. I worked per diem at a local hospital as a nurse's aide and was hired as a graduate nurse a couple months before graduation, but even those who didn't were working by June/July. Its easy to make great contacts in clinicals etc. Good luck!

Thank you for the info! Which class did you find the hardest?
