UALR Nursing applicants 2018

U.S.A. Arkansas

Hi everyone!

I wanted to start post for all of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock nursing school applicants. Priority application submission starts today and ends Feb 28 but you can still apply after, you just risk being placed on the waiting list. I have all prereqs completed for ASN except Micro which i will take this summer and all completed for the BSN program. My nursing GPA is a 3.5 and my combined is a 3.7. Best of luck to you all!!

I went to a pre-nursing advising meeting today at UALR, and the adviser said that they are trying to mail them out the week after Spring Break :(

I really don't think we are going to hear anything until the last week of March at the earliest. People will start receiving the emails for sure around March 26- first week of April ..... sigh we have 2 long weeks to go!

Yup, but I might take them at Pulaski Tech cos I've heard that UALR's chem and micro are terrible annnd I don't want my GPA to drop any.

I'm thinking about doing the same for chemistry. I took a hybrid micro class at Pulaski Tech and it was really easy. Lecture and all tests were online, only had to go to campus for lab.

I too plan to take AP2 at UA-PTC this summer. The UALR adviser told me that you can attend 2 colleges at the same time and then just transfer in the credits to UALR. When I went to a Nursing Info meeting this past Oct, there was a current nursing student speaking to our group, and she wasnt taking her Chemistry until her last semester of Nursing school. So, I may do the same, so I can just focus on Nursing classes.

I too plan to take AP2 @ UA-PTC this summer. Smaller class size and cheaper tuition, and you can always transfer the credits in to UALR.

I called them and the lady who answered said they were trying to send notifications in the next week or two. Ugh.

@dea16... You are totally right about the Micro at UAPTC. I'm taking it now and it's a breeze.

Just got my email, I'm in for the accelerated option!

I just got my email as well. I was accepted into the traditional track. I applied for the accelerated. I only need to take Chemistry to complete the prerequisites, so I am not sure why I was selected for traditional. I guess it must be my GPA. My GPA for the prereqs is a 3.7

Do you mind if I ask what your GPA is?

My overall GPA from when I graduated with my first bachelor's was a 3.75. I took micro last semester and got an A. I'm currently in Essentials of A&P and I still need Chemistry. Then I'll just need the upper level rhetoric class to get the BSN since I already have a BA.

I think you might still be able to get a spot in the accelerated program if someone declines. Congratulations on getting in!

Guys check your email! I got into the Traditional program....
