When do they offer interviews? Who all here applied? I applied to the Mobile Component. I am applying to 3 schools this year and UAB-Mobile is the hardest out of the three programs I am applying to.
I have a 3.53 GPA, 1030 on the GRE, 4.0 Graduate GPA with 18 hours towards my MSN, and my CCRN certification.... I should have studied for the GRE. I just woke up and took it without studying. When I apply to LSU for Fall 2010 (LSU is my reach school) I plan to actually study for the GRE!!!
So back to the topic When do they offer interviews and who all applied?
Having driven in Houston I would think those nurses living in Texas might steer clear of Baylor due to the traffic!
203 is a lot better than 400! Around 3:1 Apps to accepted. Nearly doubles the odds! If they interview 2 for each slot then they cut 1 in 3 based on grades, GRE, experience, recs, etc.
Be careful looking at the Mobile numbers and think you only have a low percentage of getting in, you don't know how many people that applied will be in the Mobile pool. It could be that only 15 or 20 of those 203 are in the pool for Mobile. UAB assign people to pools based on their idea of how close you are to a particular site.
My wife applied and we are in Huntsville. Any idea how many are taken up here?
I'm not a nurse just married to one, good luck to all of you.
Does anyone have an idea of when UAB lets people know if they will have an interview?
I read some older threads on UAB and saw some people having interviews as early as November, but have also seen Huntsville candidates having interviews in early February.
I am hoping and praying my wife gets an interview...she is great in those situations; standardized tests not so much.
I was told by a friend of mine in the program that invites for interviews would go out in November, and interviews would be held in January. I am not sure if this is dependent upon which clinical component you apply to or not. Seems like a long time to wait though.
Let me know if you hear different.

Just saw this:

It looks like they added some clinical locations, Tuscaloosa and Montgomery. Or did I miss this earlier in the year?

I forgot to add you made a very good point. Hopefully with UAB having just 203 applicants, it will make our chances of getting in easier
