Hey there! I am a senior high school student from BC that has applied to the U of A collaborative nursing program! If there is anyone out there who is preferable a high school applicant who has applied, let me know! Let's discuss grades and the school in general.
We do not have averages where I live, we have the "letter grade system" so I mostly got A's and 1 B.
When I called them and asked why my application status hasn't been updated they told me that these few months they are extremely busy and are trying their best to reply to everyone. The advisor told me that the minimum average they're looking last wear was around 85% but this year it is expected to be 86%. What is your average?
Trying sending Student Connect emails and asking about what is happening with your application.
Currently, 84.25 %. I have yet to complete pre calculus 12, chem 12, and the humanities option (social justice). Hoping that at least the math and sj will bring me up, but I'll have to wait until the end of the school year... It's almost at the 85%, but I wonder if I could still get it with this average..
They should accept you. I am guessing they are still offering admission to students with 85%+ average and then they start looking at those below 85 by a bit and offer a conditional offer. You could try giving them a call and inquiring about this.
Oh and btw, if they wanted to reject you they would have a while back because they rejected me at first. I think they're still trying to take a decision since your average is almost 85%. Inshallah you'll get in!
Did you check your "official correspondence" and the "view comments" section on your bear tracks?
Okay, I feel a little better about it now lol. Yeah they did reject me first, they said they couldn't offer me admission because of my current average and that they will re evaluate me when they get more marks. Hopefully inshallah it will work out. Btw have you applied to residence? I did a while back, and recently I got an email about their new nursing cohort! I applied for their single room w/ private bathroom, and the cohort happens to be in the same area (Schaffer hall?) as those rooms.
yeah get to it quickly! Yeah I've been told that, but I've also been told you can still apply and there's a lottery system to determine who gets a room there. I'm guessing if you'd apply to live in the nursing cohort, you'd get a solid spot there. by the way, were you given an unconditional offer?
I'm currently waiting on hold for an advisor. I'm going to check to see if I can still get an offer with my current average.
