TX Wesleyan Clinical Sites

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello, I have been accepted into TX Wesleyan's CRNA program, as well as two other programs to begin this fall. I consider TX Wesleyan to be my top choice at this time. I am curious if anyone attending this program has switched or changed clinical sites from the site they were originally assigned in their acceptance letter?

I know it mentioned in the video that we were required to watch before the interview that the site assigned in your acceptance letter cannot be changed, but I read a few posts from 2010 or 2011 where students were able to switch with each other, or if a site had an open slot, they could move into that slot.

Thank you in advance for the advice!

I know of it happening once so far in my class, but to my knowledge the opportunity arose and the faculty approached the student and not the other way around. It happens very rarely and is not something you should count on.

Hi there! I, too, got accepted to Tx Wes. Where is your clinical site? Also, are you staying in Fort Worth for Phase I or solely the first semester?

I'm staying on TXU campus for the first semester then heading to Wichita if someone else elects to as well!

I am in the Wichita site as well. I think we all (for Kansas clinicals) have to be in Texas for at least the first semester. Hoping to see what everyones plans were. Probably heading to Wichita after first semester as well. Any thoughts on the living situations...

***I know it is a slim possibility, but was also curious if anyone who got a Denver spot would be willing to switch with me. Am excited to be accepted to school but devastated to leave my kids. Anyone?

I too was a little surprised by my site. Was hoping to stay in Fort Worth the entire 28 months!

I am leaving my family and living in the newer apartment style dorms in August because I cant find a decent roommate or anything cheaper/safer/more convenient with all bills paid lol. I couldn't be away the whole time so we are selling our home and land to move into a townhouse in Wichita a few blocks from Wesley Medical. It is going to be very tough and a huge adjustment but I am not waiting for another opportunity because the timing will never be perfect.

That is so true. That is why I accepted also. Kansas is a strong site and will be "close" to Colorado. Unfortunately my husband and kids will be staying in Denver because my husband has a great job and his support system is here. This will be a huge sacrifice for all of us. I am planning on the graduate dorms for the fall semester too. Will be looking into housing in Kansas-anyone interested in rooming?

So it doesnt sound as if that was your first choice. Curious about how many of our class is married, kids, etc. I am 33, 2 kids, married. Seems as though this is only way to find connections before we all head out to Texas. Congrats to us all.
