TWU VS UTA

Published

Hi there,

I've lived in North Dallas for about 2 years now, and am just about done with my core classes. I've decided to pursue my career in Nursing and have yet to decide on which University to attend.

Word of mouth is Texas Woman's University is the nursing school to attend, however when i drove by the campus today, it did not seem that appealing. i know never to judge a book by its cover but I couldnt help but be a little scared.

I have applied to TWU and been accepted, however I not yet registered for classes. I do not know if i should change my choice of school, and apply to UTA since they do have the smart hospital. Any clues on which school i should go for? I want to be able to have the best nursing education there is possible and clueless on which school would have that? Any help or suggestions? I will be working part-time Dallas and living in N.Dallas this school semester.

PLEASE ONLY POST IF YOU HAVE BEEN LINKED EITHER UNIVERSITY. THANKS!

Major congrats at being accepted to the TWU nursing program - it's very competitive, so you should be very proud of your accomplishment. When you say you drove by the campus, are you referring to the Denton campus or the one Health Science campus in Dallas? Nursing education "happens" at the Dallas campus - very new and up to date.

If you have already been accepted to TWU I would not wait longer just to apply to UTA. I graduated from UTA. It was a good program but, I don't see any difference between the two. The smart hospital was just okay, we had simulations on dummies but as always it is never the same as a real life situation so you would not be missing out on anything.

If you've already been accepted to TWU, that's where I would go if I were you. Since the end result of both programs is a BSN degree and the chance the take NCLEX, I do not see a major difference between the two programs. Both are well-regarded in the D/FW area. Good luck to you.
