TWU Spring 2018

Published

Hi!

I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!

My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.

How about y'all?

okay so I have been following this forum lately but i was hesitant to make an account. I finally made one today just cause I have to tell yall that knowing that everyone else is freaking out too makes me feel better. Best wishes to everyone! Thanks for the much needed laughs!

This group is too entertaining not to join. I've been following and these past few days the comments keep getting funnier. I thought I was the only one freaking out and my husband keeps making fun of me. I've applied to four programs and just found out I was waitlisted for one :( So now I am getting down and impatient. I'm currently taking patho and Pharm online at UTA, pregnant (due in 30 days), and have a 1 year old so I figured I was just being extra. Wish you all the best of luck and hope we hear something soon !!!

Guys, for those worried about planning, you'll be waiting a while. Final Schedules are only confirmed within 10 days of the start of the semester! You need to be patient and very flexible! J1 Houston, had a rough start this semester courtesy of our dear friend Harvey, but with a little flexibility on both sides it was achievable. There are also things that pop up in the week, review sessions, tutoring, events, etc. But the school does try to accommodate as much as possible, but be aware that when the say it's a big commitment it is. I suggest between now and January, brush up on A&P because a solid background will really help moving forward!

Also, those of us who took Patho early are finding a distinct advantage over others simply knowing patho in relation to assessments and Pharm is very helpful (in addition, to having freed up several hours of time).

Hey does anyone know if the program at the Houston location is continuous or not. Like if we start in Spring 2018 when would we finish?

I didn't take Patho and seeing everyone having it done/working on it is making me nervous! Should I be? Honestly?

Summers we would have off... and it would be December 2019

No, it's definitely doable, many people take it during the semester. The fall cohort is usually the one where 20-30% of the class takes it early, but in our cohort about 50% took it early, everyone else is taking it now. No worries, they work within the schedule to make everything manageable. Just know your time management will be important, and don't study based on which exam is next, study for all 4 classes consistently.

I really hope it's today! TWU is my first choice but I got accepted to another program and the deadline to let them know if I want my spot is today!

What'd you end up doing?

What'd you end up doing?

I ended up confirming my acceptance because I didn't want to pass it up and then not get in anywhere else. But if I get into TWU I am going to withdraw... I didn't sign anything or pay for my spot so I think that's okay. I don't know I'm not really sure how these things work lol

Where did you get accepted? UTA? If so I also accepted and will withdraw if one of my other local options work out. After 9 denials overall I had to accept.

What's your first choice school?
