Starting this for anyone thinking about applying to Texas Women's University's Nursing program for Spring 2019. Even though it seems like a long time from now it's never too early to start preparing to apply:happy:

Is anyone else prepping for the TEAS or has already taken it?

Thank you t_jay!!

Hi everyone! What book are you guys using to study for the TEAS? And are you guys applying for the traditional or evening/weekend program?

Greetings, future nurses!

Wow. You guys are speedy this year! Usually, the new application cycle thread isn't created until the old application cycle is over. Because we're still in the Fall 2018 application cycle, that's the thread that we are peeking at right now. We urge you to monitor that thread as well, because sometimes we pop in with announcements. We won't pop into the Spring 2019 thread until the Fall 2018 application cycle is over.

Here are the links to the prerequisite advising worksheet, along with instructions on how to complete it:

Worksheet: https://www.twu.edu/media/documents/nursing/GPA-WS.XLSX

Instructions: https://www.twu.edu/media/documents/nursing/Instructions_for_Calculating_Nursing_GPA.pdf

Please remember that the admission score you come up with may not be exactly the same as the admission score you have once your nursing application is actually processed. The College of Nursing staff know exactly what classes and TEAS scores that TWU will accept, according to our admission requirements. The worksheet should be used to get a general idea of how your grades and TEAS scores will be calculated.

Best of luck to you!

I was only studying for the HESI, but every school that I'm looking into is asking for the TEAS. The issue I'm running into is which TEAS manual I should study from. There us TEAS V & then there is TEAS VI. Any advice?

Study from Teas VI that's the current one

Hi everyone!

So excited that there is a forum up for Spring 2019! I am in the process of graduating with my first bachelor's in May. Hoping to take my TEAS sometime around March, I got the study manual off of Amazon... It had great reviews so let's see! Anyway, I have ~3.6

Pre-Req GPA, and have a ~3.44 Nursing core GPA , however I am retaking some classes and also taking three

classes I am missing (will make all A's :] ) and that should bring up my nursing core GPA to a 3.89. TWU is my first choice!

Is there any specific way you guys are studying for the TEAS? Good luck to all and I hope to see all of us in exactly a year in person or sooner :)

Hi! I am using the Mometrix ATI Secrets book to study and I am applying to the traditional program. How about you?

I have a question for you all. I have a Bachelors of Science in Respiratory Care & two associate degrees. I was only looking into 2nd degree or accelerated programs, but am I going backwards if I apply for adn programs as well? I have to pay out of pocket...no fin aid or scholarships. I'm on my own with this. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone! I'll be applying for Spring 2019 also. For anyone looking for a TEAS book I ordered a bundle from Amazon. It is the Mometrix ATI Teas VI guide, the ATI Teas Study Manual, and the Nursing Teas Guide (which was a card, not a book.)

Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get books for the TEAS! :)

I'll be in the 2019 nights and weekends program!! (I'm speaking it into existence).

Callinshotz, here in Houston we don't have the advantage of that program. I really think they should offer it at my local campus as well. It would help many people who can only attend school at night and/or weekends.

Hello Everyone,

I am also applying for 2019 spring. I have a 3.55 GPA for my Bachelor's. I currently have a 4.0GPA, for most of the prerequisites excluding Microbiology, chemistry, government(s) and history(s) which I am currently enrolled in and will finish up by Summer. I live in Dallas and I am in need of a study buddy for the TEAS. I just want someone to revise with weekly and take practical exams with. I am lagging behind on my teas preparation because of school and work. So I need a commitment. Please if you are interested let me know. I am free on weekends in the mornings like a 2hr study group will be awesome. I can also help you with prerequisites I have taken and Aced. I hope we all get into TWU.
