TWU Spring 2020 Hopefuls?

Updated:   Published

Hey! I'm applying to TWU for Spring of 2020. It's super early, but apps are due this Summer. Anyone else applying? I'm super nervous and I'd love to hear what everyone is doing to prepare for the TEAS! Also if anyone knows how many points are considered competitive let me know!

Yes. I have Tricare

Then you can go to you primary care dr. It is usually covered under your insurance. If you are due for a physical you can have them include it into your bloodwork or if you recently hhad one your dr. may add the order and you would have to have your blood drawn again. Call your Dr. first, if not I know that we refer people to like those anylab test places not sure how much the prices run.

Hi guys,

I’m applying for TWU Houston Spring 2020.

I got a 86.7 for TEAS

Reading: 72

Math: 90.6

Science:100

English: 83.3

and based on mine calculation. I have 45 points right now. I don’t know if I should retake the TEAS? Anyone know what is the average score TWU is looking for?

Thank you

Based on a previous comment, they said the average was around 39. Play with the calculations for the TEAS on the Excel point list and see if it changes your overall score. If it does not, I dont know if I would retake it. You have pretty good scores, except reading maybe. Best wishes!

Your teas scores are good but they also look at individual sections and gpa. A 100 on science is really really good and super impressive but your reading is lagging behind. Your overall teas score is good but based on previous scores I would say an admissions score of 48+ is “safe” and a score of 52+ is essentially guaranteed.

Hey guys, I'm applying to Spring 2020. Did not get accepted for fall and I'll be retaking my TEAS, it's really the only thing I can change to get accepted

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 4.0

No previous bachelors and no TWU preference. My previous TEAS score was 84% and admission score was 48.3. I'll be retaking the TEAS in June and I'm also looking at applying to a few other schools. Wishing you all the best of luck, it was pretty rough not getting in, even though with my admission score I was not at all surprised.

You can retake TEAS and improve your score or retake any low-grade classes. Either of them could bump your admission score.

Did you apply to Houston or Dallas for the Fall 2019?

I applied for fall, but didn’t get into Dallas, so I’m applying again for spring.

I’m really bummed, because I had a good gpa, pretty good teas scores, and I had the preference points. My admission score was 52.4 and my advisor said that was good.

I’m going to retake the teas, but I’m worried because we can only take it two times. Also I heard they are taking less people this next time, so now there are even fewer spots.

The traditional program is very competitive in the fall. I know for Spring 2019 the cutoff was 51pts but i heard they are no longer giving the cutoff at this time so not sure what it was for this fall but im pretty sure it was probably around 54 again...I would say you have a good shot for the spring term but if you can boost your TEAS score try to do that bc that's where alot of the points come from! Good luck!

Sorry for seeing this so late, I applied for Dallas Traditional

hi guys! i’m applying for spring 2020 at the dallas campus! i’m seeing what y’all have said about cutoffs. my gpa is low but meets the requirement. if i have a high teas score my overall score will be a 61. does this sound promising of acceptance?
