Aaaaalriiighty! With the large volume of nursing students who applied for TWU this Fall semester and the very few amount of drop outs, it's time to start up the Spring 2017 applicants forum topic!! I'm one of the waitlisters who didn't make it into the Fall 2016 Dallas nursing program, but definitely had competitive scores.
For reference I had a GPA of 3.86 (3.68 nursing core) and a TEAS score of an 87 (top 3%). That left me with a total of 47.7 points (43.83 for Spring 2017, but I'll explain).
Now keep in mind that this semester TWU will no longer be looking at cumulative GPAs, but only the nursing core GPA. Other than that, the change in the Program Materials on the Nursing CAS application, and that you don't need to send a transcript to NursingCAS, there have been no major changes to note for the Spring 2017 semester.
Also, to those who either scored less than me or have a lower GPA don't let that discourage you. Last application cycle was a weird one with close to triple the amount of Honor's students (HS=guaranteed acceptance) and an unusually low declination return. Last Spring, the lowest accepted student had about 43.1 points. Which equates to about a 3.6 GPA and an 82-85 TEAS. If you can hit that ballpark you're in a good spot. Also, since there was such a high percentage of HS for Fall 2016 it's likely that there will be a much lower HS Spring turnout.
Stats for the Fall 2016 accepted students
Dallas lowest accepted: 51.1pts (40 HS)
Houston lowest accepted: 35pts
Now be advised that there is a full 20 points given to any TWU student with 32+ credit hours. That means if you're a TWU student with 32+ you've got great chances. Now for you transfer students (such as myself), I advise studying your tail end off for that TEAS in order to be competitive. It's not impossible, but it is improbable if you don't produce excellent returns.

I spent hours researching and talking with advisors, so I've gotta lot of slick info in my book. Also, I'll probably post the actual calculator excel spreadsheet they use for calculating points later, so you can play around with it.
I'll be there Tuesday... I went and toured the campus last Friday. Parking passes cost $70 and you can get hem through web advisor in your portal. There is like 9 meter spots and the rest is only permit panting that I saw.
And on pioneer portal it says the location for our class is at Parkland.... But that's not correct, right? It's at the Boone Pickens institute of health sciences campus...? Correct me if I'm wrong!
So I just graduated from Texas A&M with a 3.5 (my nursing GPA is about the same) and I made a 91 on the teas my first try because the math section started somehow while I was in the bathroom and I didn't finish lol but do y'all think that I still have a decent chance? I'm happy with my score since I studied the night before but I'm still worried cause it seems like most people's GPAs are higher than mine. I know my friend from A&M got in for fall start this year with an 85 on the TEAS and a C in one of the pre-reqs, 2 A's, and B's on the rest so I think I'll be ok but I'm still worried!

Yeah really easy... Second floor 2607 in the TWU BP building. The 3rd floor you can get your TWU ID made if you don't have one already. And they have an amazons gym on the 3rd floor as well.
I didn't reach out to them, they just sent me the email.
I am also taking Patho at the Dallas campus starting tomorrow and I purchased my parking permit a couple of weeks ago. But don't worry because they give you a temporary parking permit to print if you're just now buying it.

3.6 Nursing core GPA
88.7% on TEAS
Post-bacc from Texas A&M
53 points (after inputing everything into the exel spreadsheet)
what do you all think my chances of getting in are? I'm slightly concerned after reading about everyone that had really great GPA's and TEAS' scores that were waitlisted...

sche34, honestly, I'd say you have a pretty good chance of getting in. Houston tends to be less competitive from what I've read on previous threads due to the higher number of TWU transfers applying to the Dallas location!! I'd say you're good to go!
