TWU question

Hey. I have a question regarding the mulitcultural and womens studies requirements for TWU. Do these 2 courses have to be completed before entering nursing school or can you take them while you're in nursing school? I've been looking everywhere for classes that are considered multicultural and womens studies. What are you taking/have taken for them? I would appreciate any feedback..Thanks so much!

You can take both your women's studies and multicultural while you are in the upper division nursing program. I took my multicultural the summer before Junior I and my womens studies online the summer after Junior II. Unfortunately, TWU is about the only place to pick up your womens studies class. Good luck! I am going into my last semester at TWU, so if you have any more ??'s, feel free to PM me.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. What did you take for your multicultural studies? I just talked to TWU and the whole thing about being able to take your womens and multicultural studies classes while in nursing school has changed  ...so now its looking like i have to take something like cultural anthropology this semester (booo). Well, just when you get a chance, write back. Thanks!

Hey,

I had this same question. I am taking my prerequisite classes at Cy-Fair college in NHMCCD and they offered not a single class that would fill the requirement. So I went to look at the catalog for Houston Community College and they offer a couple of classes that fit the requirement. I just signed up for Psychology of Women (PSYC 2374) and am taking it via distance education. For multicultural studies I am also having to take cultural anthropology. Also for TWU- Houston the counselor said that you must have these two courses completed before you enter the nursing school. Hope that helps!
