TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019

Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

I think it only works if you are enrolled in classes this semester. I’m going to call the number tomorrow. Surely they wouldn’t tell us about using the Patient Portal if we can only get the test done if we are enrolled this semester.

Yeah because that’s where we’re supposed to submit our immunizations so I don’t understand why they made it like that.

Do we have to pay to reserve our spots? I know some schools do that but I haven't read anything on here about that. I just want to make sure.

Yeah I was wondering about that too. I know UTH has you pay a deposit.. I don't think TWU has one since nobody has mentioned it

So does the Dallas packet not have the fingerprint section? I don’t see it anywhere

On the acceptance checklist "Complete the Clinical Psych Data Information Survey" form. What did you guys put on "I prefer clinical on Sat, Sun, and lab in the evening"? I don't know what to put because I don't know how the schedule would be like in the future..I thought they would include clinical on weekdays

I think I put no preference or that I preferred to have it during the week. Either way it says that even if you select a preference, it doesn't mean that youll get it. I think they might just take it into account when forming our schedules. My friend from Sam Houston nursing told me that because there are more hospitals in the medical center, well have more opportunities to fill in (nights/weekends) just depending on when the hospital and school decides were able to.

Yeah I had no idea. Also, I am planning on getting an apartment near TWU so I was not sure what to put on where I was located in Houston.
