TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019

Published

Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

In April, will we be expecting acceptance letters in the morning or at the end of the day? Not sure if anyone knows what time they typically send them out, or if the time varies.

Usually it’s around 5

Okay, thank you!

that's true...i would figure they would try to get them out this week...since its normally a 2 week time frame we would have to accept or decline the offer and they could then offer spots to anyone on the waiting list since the mandatory orientation is 5/3...but who knows...LOL

Hi again! Where did you hear that orientation was 5/3? Just curious

I have a question, it may seem dumb, but is there a time where we need to declare our nursing specialty? For example, OR, ER, ICU, recovery and etc.

are you meaning while in the program? i don't think you do that until after you finish school, or the last semester, is when you decide which specialty you would like to work in...while in the program you're going to see pretty much everything which may help decide which specialty you would like to go in after you graduate

hey yall....i have a question...did ALL schools (in texas i guess or every where LOL) go to "shorter" terms...i remember my last semester at the community college they mention the terms would be 7-8 weeks beginning that next semester, but is that true for all schools...i noticed on TWU academic calendar the fall term was broken down into 2, 7 week terms for the Fall....i wonder if the nursing program would follow those same guidelines....

TWU has both options. I went online and saw that they had classes already posted for registration and they followed the long term plan, but it is early to tell since everything is “subject to change”.

I have a friend who is in the traditional program at UTA in her second year. She mentioned that her semester is split like that right now. Her first 2 semesters weren't.

see that's why i wondered if the nursing program would stay on the long term or if they would be moving to those "split" shorter terms...since this is something new schools are doing

The classes for the first semester of the N&W program seem to follow a normal semester length. Good question to ask.

I'm going to email and ask....MAYBE this is why we have to wait SOOOOOO long to find out LOL ?
