TWU Houston Fall 2009

Published

I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.

I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.

I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!

(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)

No you aren't Sophia. Me and you are in this together. Just think of us as having more experience with life :) It's only a number

Specializes in SICU/CVICU.

I think you're right too Theresa, I had some doubts a couple of days ago, but it's feeling more and more like the right choice every day. Just gonna be really hard to leave north Texas, it's been home all my life! What city do you live in? Would you wanna carpool in summer for patho, or we could check into taking it at the Dallas campus I guess?

Hey princess, how would i find out about taking patho at the dallas campus and do you know if it's offered at the denton campus?

Specializes in SICU/CVICU.

lol, when you say granny, I think of the picture on the old maid cards, no way you look like that!

Specializes in NICU.

its offered at the parkland campus

Sophia1983 no you are not the granny. Trust me you are not one. The school needs to get used to people from other professions transitioning to nursing. This is my second degree.

Specializes in NICU.

murse I know how you feel. I loved in Mesquite,TX for almost 26 yrs and it was a adjustment for me to come down to Houston. It will only be 2 yrs of your life and you can always go back

Specializes in SICU/CVICU.

Hey christine, this is my second degree too, what was your first one in? And princess, are we allowed to take classes at the parkland campus if we were only admitted to Houston, or should I hush and just call an advisor tomorrow? lol

Any body down for some nursing BINGO with old granny? HAHAHA... JUST KIDDING... APRIL FOOL'S DAY.

Thanks for you support guys! :)

my cowokers, who used to live in houston told me that the commute will be horrible if I live more than 10 miles away. Spending about 3 hours on commute when I could be studying is really not worth it. Looks like I really need to find some roomates.

murse, i actually live in houston. I'm kinna close to the campues but not really. I live like 40 min away and that's without traffic. I guess that's why i wanna live closer to campus....to avoid traffic. have you found a place yet? I'm still looking....

and Sophia you are so funny!
