TWU Fall 2012 Weekend Program & Traditional

Published

Hello all!

I am currently in the process of applying to TWU's weekend program for Fall 2012 and I just wanted to start a new thread for any prospective TWU nursing students as well as current students!

For those of you who don't know, TWU has a weekend program for students with a previous bachelor degree in another field. From what I understand, if you are not selected for the weekend program, they will automatically consider you for the traditional program as well.

The minimum GPA requirement is 3.0 with the TEAS V entrance exam also required in order to apply..and of course you also have to complete the required pre-requisite courses.

Here is a link to the program for more information: http://www.twu.edu/nursing/weekend-program.asp

If anyone else has any more detailed information regarding this program, your input is certainly welcome. I hope this thread is helpful for anyone considering nursing school at TWU. :)

I created a thread asking my question before I saw this thread...what are the differences between TWU (Houston campus) and UT Houston? I'm applying to both and (not saying I will :rolleyes:) but IF I get in to both, how do I choose? This may be a silly question but I'm really curious. Thanks for any info!

Hey everyone. I'm also applying to the TWU Fall 2012 Nursing program. I'm so nervous! I really don't think my GPA is good enough and I still need to schedule a date to take my TEAS. :/ ah, stress!

Hello everyone. I'm also applying to the TWU Fall 2012 weekend program, although, I have yet to schedule a date to take my TEAS. Good luck to all!:)

hey guys i am a former applicant, but i did not finish my application by the deadline and was not considered.

Hello all!

I am also a former applicant, I was denied for Fall of 2012, I have a GPA of 3.73 and I am re-taking my TEAS for a better score, I had a 69! There were over 800 applicants for the last semester, it was crazy! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me, since I have gone through it last semester! Everyone just make sure to apply and take your TEAS by February 1st! Also, make sure to study for the TEAS!

I wish everyone good luck!

Aw, our latest conversation is not here!

Well, let's start again. Anyone applying for Fall? :)

I'm not sure whats going on, maybe not alot of people are applying???!! Or nobody wants to talk about it :) lol I am REAPPLYING. As I stated above before, I have a 3.72 GPA and am retaking the TEAS in a week or so, I am here to help anyone who has any questions since I have gone through it last semester! :) Wish everyone good luck! Post your stats so we can all compare!

Hello!

I am also a TWU Fall 2012 applicant and I will be taking the TEAS this Monday. Anyone taking Pathophysiology at TWU Dallas campus this Spring?

Hello all,

I was going to apply to TWU but didn't take Nutrition in time. I am now trying to get into an ADN program and will do either a RN to BSN or RN to MSN after I am done. I am going to take the TEAS on the 24th of this month January. The school I am applying to only requires the reading comprehension part so I only have to worry about that section.

I was going to take Patho and Pharm at UTA but after looking at the ADN program I won't need to take it just yet. I wish you all the best but I have decided to go a more economical route as well as a quicker route for me. If I wait around to get accepted into a four year program I will be waiting a few years seeing as though I would have to retake some courses that I have B's in to bring up my GPA.

My only question is what program is so many people applying to? The weekend or traditional..or both

Ok, I just got my score, I got an 80.7% on the TEAs, my gpa is a 3.77. I hope my scores are competitive.

Here is my break down.

Reading 81%

Math 80%

Science 81.3%

English and Reading 83.3%

God, I'm nervous :(

Also I have 2 of the 4 preferences for sure. I got an A in Micro (lec and lab) and an A in Stats. In AP 1 and 2, I got an A in lecture and a B in lab... we had some of the worst T.A.'s for lab :( so I don't get the pref for AP 1 or 2.

Hi SSRM,

That's a very good score for TEAS!!:yelclap:

I am taking the TEAS Monday, any good tips? :uhoh21: I am so nervous!!
