Hello everyone! Congratulations to everyone! I have a question? Have you guys received anything yet? I got into Houston's program and I just wanted to know what to expect. Thanks in advance!

I've received several emails and the acceptance packet from the coordinator at the Dallas campus. Be sure to check your spam folder!! If not call the coordinator for your school because there are deadlines coming up soon.

I've been checking my spam folder too and I haven't gotten anything from the coordinator at the Houston campus. I'll check my mail later today to see if I've gotten a packet in the mail. I'm nervous bc I work weekends so I need to tell work that I can't be there since we're supposed to have a meeting in April.

I don't think Houston has sent anything out yet because no one has gotten anything!

I'm sure we will be soon though since the first orientation is in April for us. It's almost April.. So I'm sure they'll send something soon so we can get everything turned in that needs to be turned in! :)

Someone mentioned that Houston info should be going out this week. So my guess is we would get it mid next week, hopefully!!!! :) August can't come soon enough..... :)

I received my packet for the Houston center today! In case anyone hasn't received it yet, the advising sessions are April 17th, 8am-1pm.

TWU preference is having a prior degree and/or doing your prerequisites at TWU!

They have changed the way they've done the acceptance "formula" over the last year or so.

Having TWU credits helps a lot more than it used to. My daughter had a bunch of TWU credits but was wait-listed due to the mountain of applications TWU received for the Nursing Program, from the old formula of accepting 4.0 GPAs from outside TWU and unknown schools. This has been improved. She was then told she would get in the next round, but she chose another path and is a Nursing program she enjoys (and says its a lot of work but so much better ran than the Denton campus). I dont want to say where because Im not trying to sell another campus. I only want to help people not have too high of an expectation and be let down.

A lot of people dont know the Denton campus is much different from the downtown Dallas Nursing School site. Getting into TWU Denton doesnt mean you were accepted into their Nursing program. For the cost and hype of TWU, we didnt have a good experience at all at the Denton campus. Student Life tried helping but we had to call and fight things far too much. From the dorm experience, to some faculty being "temps" and contributing to the daughters high gpa dropping, and the financial aid staff and some very bad advice from the counselors, it was a huge let down from our very high expectations.

Denton TWU-

I give TWU a 1.8 GPA for their Dorm situation.

I give TWU a 3.0 GPA for their Faculty

I give TWU a 2.1 GPA for their Counselor Help

I give TWU a 3.6 GPA for their Student Life support. (but you have to keep them informed constantly)

I give TWU a 4.0 GPA for marketing and brand name recognition.

No comment on the downtown Dallas site for Nursing.
