TWU Fall 2018 Nursing Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys, I know it's a little early, however, I decided to start this thread as the application process will be soon upon us.

How are you studying for the TEAS?

Wishing all the best! :)

I can't seem to find your fb page!

Oh my goodness same! Lol

Nevermind found it!

I got accepted to the Dallas program!

I got accepted in to the Houston program!

I got accepted into the Dallas program! I got the e-mail yesterday late-afternoon!

Greetings, everyone!

Email notifications went out yesterday for the Dallas and Houston traditional nursing programs. The emails would have gone to the email address used to sign up for NursingCAS, so make sure to check your spam/junk folder if there's nothing in your inbox. Emails to your TWU email addresses will follow shortly.

With a total of 887 applicants, the Fall 2018 application cycle has been one of the largest and most competitive applicant pools we've ever seen. Admission always comes down to the applicant pool, and we had many qualified applicants. Even we were surprised at how high the bar was set this time around.

Preliminary stats/averages for Fall 2018 are as follows:

Dallas Traditional

Lowest admitted score: 54.4

Avg. GPA: 3.78

Avg. TEAS: 93.4%

Houston Traditional

Lowest admitted score: 39.4

Avg. GPA: 3.64

Avg. TEAS: 85.6

Dallas Weekend/Evening

Lowest admitted score: 48.3

Avg. GPA: 3.77

Avg. TEAS: 87.6

Those of you who received an offer of admissions (congratulations!), please make sure to accept or decline your offer by Monday, April 2nd at 5:00 PM CST. Once you've sent your confirmation form, there is nothing else to do until your campus contacts you. You will have orientation on May 4th, and that is when you will register for class and find out everything you need to know for your first semester.

Students who are on the waiting list received a notice that specifically said they were on the waitlist. If admitted students decline an offer of admission or fail to respond by the deadline, then those spaces will be offered to students on the waitlist. Notifications will be sent to waitlisted applicants by email.

If you would like to discuss reasons why you were not admitted and what to do next time to be a more competitive applicant, we encourage you to set up an appointment with a TWU nursing academic advisor. You may do so by calling the College of Nursing Office at 940-898-2401 or visiting the online appointment scheduling system: https://meetme.so/TWUNursing.

Does anyone know how many people are accepted into the program each semester and if it is different for each location?

Does anyone know anything about scholarships and financial aid when you have a previous degree already? Also, Is it different for the nursing program from the actual college because I see that the deadline for Fall 2018 was March 15th for Scholarships. It still allowed me to submit a general application.

TEAS composite 83.3%

Reading 70.2%

math 96.9%

Science 83%

English 87.5%

Congrats to everyone who made it in! Can't wait to graduate with y'all in a short couple of years

Congrats to you! Did you have any bumps?

I received my acceptance letter yesterday!! I applied to TWU Houston campus. I was super shocked as I didn't do as well as I was hoping. I had a 3.3 cumulative GPA and my science GPA was around a 3.2. My ATI TEAS was 82.7! However, my friend who applied to Dallas had better scores than me, a 3.4 GPA and an 85 teas, and she didnt get in. I think Dallas has so many people applying there that it's getting stricter and harder to get in.
