Nursing Students School Programs
Published Sep 23, 2017
Hey guys, I know it's a little early, however, I decided to start this thread as the application process will be soon upon us.
How are you studying for the TEAS?
Wishing all the best! :)

If I don't make the traditional program for Fall I will apply for spring here and also UTA's online accelerated program for the Spring. I have considered applying for Tech's accelerated program as well but they require you to have a CNA certification and I don't know if I want to foot that cost just to apply. The weekend/evening program must have been really competitive this time around. Last year the lowest score accepted was 44.8 and the year before was even lower...I was really hopeful I was going to be able to make it...

I think that 44.8 was for the Houston program. I applied for the Dallas program for Spring 2018 and I was waitlisted with around 47 points. I retook my nutrition class over winter semester to make myself more competitive for this application period.

It seems that the cut-off score increases every year. From this thread, there are several people applying for the weekend/night program with high 50's. Heather told me before that the traditional program has slightly lower cut-off score because most applicants have not yet received their bachelor's degree.
I could be wrong, but I played around the excel file, it seems that if your TEAS score is 85% or above for each section, the biggest score boost comes from retaking classes.
what were your stats this time around if you don't mind me asking

i retook the TEAS one last time (on 2/1) to try and boost my score and got an 85 or above in each section BUT bc I don't have any preference points my score is much lower...which sucks, but it is what it is as this point. w/out attending TWU or having a bachelor's you have to get HIGHER scores to get accepted...I can retake the 2 classes I received a "B" in to boost my score for next year if I reapply
...and Congrats to those who've been accepted so far!

Ok thanks!
You can play around with the excel sheet and see. Also, I really think that to have preference by getting 16 hours from TWU is a great boost on the score.
Yea I did...if I boost my GPA to 4.0 instead of 3.7 with my current TEAS score I would have 51 points
