TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

I love that they do that. They are the only school that I've witnessed thus far that does such a good job with updates and actually writes on this forum.

I received my email today. So I do believe they are still sorting through applications. Good luck to everyone and don't worry I'm sure there's plenty more of us getting the emails for consideration.

TICK....TOCK...TICK...TOCK

ahhhh the wait is just excruciating at this point. If we all could take a moment and give a moment of thanks and prayers to the TWU CON admissions staff.

LOL I really hope we know by March 24.

Whats letter does your last name start with and which campus did u apply to?

My last name begins with a C and I received an email saying my application has been processed on March 6. I've applied to Houston.

lol tell me about it! I'm hoping that by some miracle we know this friday through email before sending out letters. *sigh* wishful thinking...

Is anyone planning on holding a part-time or full time job while in school? If so, what kind of job? I'm currently working as a speech therapist, but it's a stressful job so I'm also applying to different places. (Mostly spas, salons, retail places) Thinking a relaxing job would be best! :)

Got an email for the first time since submitting my application asking if I would have a certain class completed by the start of the program. It said to respond within the next week to still be considered so I'm thinking we'll know something by the end of next week or around the beginning of the week of March 20!

Hi, future nurses!

We've gotten some panicked phone calls about information shared on AllNurses.com, so we wanted to pop in and help clear up some confusion and offer reassurance.

We are processing both Dallas and Houston applicants at the same time. Because there are multiple people processing applications, we each take a chunk of the alphabet so that we don't stumble over each other as we work.

Processing applications is taking us a little longer than anticipated because we are understaffed. We are absolutely working as quickly as possible. It is our goal to have acceptance letters sent out after Spring Break. Both Dallas and Houston applicants will receive notification of acceptance at the same time. (There is no Dallas finds out first, then Houston finds out later. We're not sure where that information is coming from.)

Please refrain from calling, dropping by, or emailing to check the status of your application. We know the anticipation is fierce, but try to remain calm! All questions and notifications about your application will be sent to the email you used to sign up for NursingCAS. Make sure you check your email (including spam/junk folder) at least once a day. If you're worried that you may have missed an email, log into NursingCAS and check your notifications section.

Best of luck (and remember to take deep breaths)!

There is another post with the same title as this one and TWU Admin posted there last week. I hope this helps you guys.

Hey Marilyn!

I went to the open house back in January and they said because the program is full-time, they suggested not having a job during the program (maybe during summers?) because of how much work you have to put into studying/clinicals. I'm sure if you wanted to give it a try to see if it fits your schedule it wouldn't hurt to! I wasn't planning on having a job because I know from my experience it just wouldn't work out.

I will be working full-time.
