TWU clinical sites

Published

I am currently preparing my application for admittance into TWU anesthesia program next fall. The application asks that you select your top four clinical choices. I know little to nothing about most of them. Which clinical sites would you recommend?

I would just look at a place you might want to live for the next 2 years. I think all the clinical sites have good teaching. I am at the Jonesboro clinical site and love it.

arrowhead regional in southern california not sure if its concidered san bernadino or fontana. its a great hospital. new facility, less than 6 years old. county facility, lots of trauma, OB, some peds.

great staff as far as anesthesia goes.

i spent 3 months there as part of my Kaiser rotation. would definetly go back if given the option.

almost all new anesthesia machines, narcomed 6000. jet ventilators on every machine.

cool thing, you get a new "box" for each case, contains blades, handles, headstrap, towels, lmas of varying sizes. pretty neat setup. anesthesia carts and supplies well thought out in their setup.

true you have to live in lubbock but its actually not bad at all. and the clinical experince is hard to beat. in my third week here we are almost working independantly with the MDA always a call away. it makes you think and want to read and learn constantly so you can be safe. many other clinical sites are babysit "supervise" there resident CRNA's everyday right up to graduation. at Tech the RRNA is devising the Anesthisa plan and executing it. I was skeptical at first but am growing to really enjoy it.

I started at Arrowhead 3 weeks ago. It is a GREAT learning environment, and would recommend the site to any TWU/TCU student.
