I'm in a similar boat! I have my GPA from undergrad and my GPA from my community college where I took classes a bit later. It really does depend on the school. I have seen some schools only consider the undergrad GPA, some who only look at last 60/90 units, or some that combine the two. I recommend emailing admissions to clarify this!
Like others have been saying, it'll depend on the school. Most weight SHOULD be put on the pre-reqs. I know when I was applying to ABSN programs, I had a 2.95 uGPA and came back to do my pre-reqs like you and had a 4.0 in those. I got accepted into both programs. So even if they're looking at your previous GPA, they'll see how you've clearly changed your study habits with your pre-reqs and take that into consideration!

I am now enrolled at a community college taking nursing prereqs (Nutrtion,LifespanScience, Biochem, AP1, AP2, Microbio, and Stats) and will finish with a 4.0 GPA as I have gotten all As. I plan on applying to ABSN programs or even attempting to apply for traditional BSN where I can use all the previous classes to start right in the third semester(if they allow that). Im curious what they do about the 2 separate GPAs as they are from different schools. Do they average them together, and does the 2.99 kill my chances despite having a 4.0 in those 7 prerequisites. Anyone have insight or experience with this?? Thanks!
Where I am from they count both the overall GPA as well as science GPA, and no schools from what I heard for any nursing schools will let u bypass semesters 1 and 2 to start at 3. If u are applyying from lvn to BSN program then u will bypass semesters 1 and 2 but there is a test I believe.
